Most of what I have quoted above are current crop of competitors. I forgot to quote Mini Cooper Works in that list too.
The
problem the Leon Cupra has is the suspension is 'old technology', and they are starting to show signs of age. If they have been well maintained, and are running decent suspension components then they could still mix it with some of the above. My mate has a 52 plate Leon Cupra with 55k on the clock, unmapped, and its still a quick car. However cars like the Leon Cupra Mk2 have so much more mechanical grip. The grip from the new platforms astonishes me.
I return to the point that in the right hands its a very capable car, and wouldn't be deeply embarrased by any of the above.
