Cheers for the responses. Just another couple of questions. Insurance on the Cupra compared to the 184. Big difference in price? Also car tax. Bought my 184 new in 2015 so I know I won't be paying £30 a year anymore. What's the going car tax for the new 300 Cupra. £140 inititial I believe but what then?
Car tax now for a new Cupra 300 is £500 initial year and then £140 per year
Bucket seats are not included in the sub8 pack. You paid them extra.
Swapping my 184FR for a 300, ordered - it comes mid August.
Currently do a round trip London -> Manchester every week, can get about 55mpg from the 184, so I'm sure I'll be shocked by the 300!
My experience of cupra is 30-35mpg mway cruising between 75-80. I can hit 40+ mpg when keeping at a steady 50.
I'm shocked and disappointed to hear that anyone has a bad word to say about my favourite car.![]()
Got my Cupra 300 (from FR 150) on Friday so still early days but will be doing 75 miles per day from now on. It'll be mainly A roads and motorways but I'll let you know in the next couple of weeks of the average MPG. I'm guessing it'll be no where near the 55-60MPG on the FR but hey, I didn't buy a Cupra to be light footed!
On extras, I stuck to the basics as I intend to change to another Cupra in September/October and the dealer advised me not to add any bits as I'd lose more than just depreciation.
On insurance, my premium stayed the same with Direct Line, which was a surprise, but probably due to only having 2 months left to renewal and they want me to stay with them.
Hope that helps but in summary, go for the Cupra - you only live once and it'll put a huge smile on your face!
