Hi everyone, I’m still looking for a car at the moment, I’m going to look at a 2018, fr Leon 184 td, it’s got 78,000, is there anything to look out for on these?
Iv been told it’s had its cambelt done at 36000 miles.
It’s from a main dealer, seat approved.
So will come with warranty.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks everyone

Rear dampers and front wheel bearings seem weak. Mine were toast before 100,000miles. If it has 'misting' advisory on the MOT will probably need dampers soon.
Heater matrix - check all vents blow hot.
Oil consumption - bit tricky to check on a test drive! If it has a can of oil in the boot that would be a sign
Check the start stop works. If not its a sign the battery is tired.

clutch/DMF would be the main one for a car at that age, that's around when mine started to go, I had the same model just a 16 plate. Heater matrix on them can clog and need replacement so as above check all the vents blow hot, check they work on all settings too.

Just be sure it's been well cared for, serviced and not abused.
I have a 15 plate 184 manual, 104k. No faults. No failures.

Don't want to 'tempt fate' but my clutch/DMF is original on my 2015 with 140,000 miles.
Clutches don't wear linearly with miles. You could do a 200 motorway trip without touching the clutch and so with zero clutch wear. Even changing gear doesn't wear the clutch if you're not being abusive with it - its starting from a standstill which wears the clutch - so stop/start hill/start driving.
The clutch has to slip whilst transmitting torque to take up the speed difference from the spinning engine to the stationary wheels.
