Leon 2016 184 TDI - Rattle noise when car is not moving

Hello all,

I have a 2016 Leon TDI 184 DSG and I have had a few problems with it recently.The car is now on about 91k and we recently had to get a single fuel injector replaced and the fuel injector rail. We also had the cambelt replaced and a full service at a local garage. The car is making a rattling noise when stationary at traffic lights for example. I have attached a link to a YouTube vid I added.

I have also noticed that the DPF regen is coming on everytime we use the car now for short journeys.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the noise?

What was wrong with the injector? They are usually reliable.
Not sure why you would need to change a fuel rail?

For the noise - try and narrow down where it is coming from - go around the engine/gearbox with a long screwdriver (used as a stethoscope) obviously be careful of the moving belts!

Thanks for the response. That's a good shout in terms of trying to work out where noise is originating from.The car was feeling lumpy when started for about 5 seconds and then was making a noise when being driven about a month ago. Took it to a garage and they said that one of the fuel injectors was broken and that the fuel injector rail was bent. They said it's just something that can happens on diesels with close to 100k on them. I suspected that it might be because the car does so many DPF regens, the heat off the Regen may have bent the fuel rail (if that's possible).Car seemed fine when we got it back but all of a sudden it's started making this noise when stationary. Worried it's going to become a money pit now.

I could understand an injector - though one failing is very rare (usually fine at 200k miles) - more likely just blocked - but a bent fuel rail is impossible I would say! Fuel rail's are very sturdy steel pipe and there is no mechanical or thermal stress to cause bending. More likely they bent it trying to prise out an injector with a crow bar!

For your noise - try and narrow down where it's coming from with the above technique.
