Researching Clutches
Well the clutch decided to slip over the weekend. Felt it in 5th and 6th gear when under load. I am now researching options. The hardest bit is trying to judge whether the flywheel will need doing. Do I risk it by not getting one and then finding out it needs it once the car is stripped down or just get one and fit it for safe measures. Cars done 58k miles and is running 288bhp and 313lb/ft. Cars used as a daily driver and I like to use it how it's suppose to be used
1/4 mile runs, couple of track days planned for 2012 which is what makes it difficult to decide what option to go for
An option would be the LUK dual mass flywheel (Euro Car Parts or somewhere similar) and Sachs performance clutch which I am finding for around £600+ for the rigid friction plate and pressure plate
Other options which are getting raved about are:
Southbend clutches like this one from JBS (need to check which DMF it works with but sure it's most) -

Alternatively there is the single mass flywheel options. The obvious concern with these seem to be the noise factor. It chatters on idle. On the opposite side of things the car will rev more freely so revs will increase quicker due to the lighter option of the SMF however revs will also drop quicker which comes to another concern when it comes to gear changes and keeping the revs up. Nonetheless the options for the SMF route I believe are:
Southbend clutch kit with single mass flywheel:

Helix clutch kit with single mass flywheel:

Finally the last option I am looking at is the newly put together kit from Awesome GTI. It is their updated clutch and SMF at a very tasty price of £625 and they are stating that it does not have the usual idle clatter -

As always recommendation welcome
