Darren is there anything which you won't attempt to polish? Lol

Just got in after a bit of a long drive (cruising of course). Slowly bedding in the clutch but so far I am very impressed. Pedal feel is actually lighter than how it was before I gave it in. The guys at Clutch Express in Bromley did a really good job on the car and very happy with their service. Guy who worked on the car has a mint S4 estate in grey with a set of BBS CH wheels..........yummy!!

Gear linkages have been aligned and wow what a difference that does. No more struggling to get into first and second and gears simply slide in. Once iv got the clutch bedded in I will be able to fully test it and let you all know how it does.

Oh and before I forget Awesome were right, no chatter noise from this SMF

Ahhhhh it sounds awesome matey.

So glad your pleased with it :)

Gives me a good option to go for now! I want my gear changes sorted out too so 1st and 2nd are smoother. Is the short shifter on?

Cheers mate. Hopefully I will continue saying positive things about this set up once fully bedded in and it's given a proper testing.

Nah the short shifter isn't on yet. Been a bit lazy today :(

Tidy up time

Been a bit of a lonely time for the Leon lately, with other more important things going on the most I have been able to do is keep it clean.........well kind of clean!!

However I have now started getting a few bits together now that I want to tidy the exterior up.

New 'R' badge for the rear - mine is proper worn out. Taking the ones under the side lights off and leaving it like that as I think it looks better:
cuprarbadge.jpg

Leon Cupra R Richbrook twist tax disc holder - when I was getting my front windscreen changed the guy managed to rip my tax disc holder so decided to go for this one:
cuprartaxdisc.jpg

Parcel Shelf Boot Tray - carries the most essentials in case of any emergencies
ParcelShelfBootTray.jpg

Boot liner/mat tray - which is in the shape of the Leon boot (generic image)
leonlinermattray.jpg

Brembo break caliper decals - callipers really do need sorting, looking very tired indeed. Need to be repainted
brembodecals.jpg

Seat wheel caps - still contemplating whether I refurb the wheels or just go for new ones
seatwheelcaps.jpg

Now that all of that is out of the way, I also went and purchased something a bit more tasty.

Hughes Engineering Rear Strut Brace - hear a lot of praises for these so can't wait to get it on
hughesengineeringstrutbrace.jpg

Really looking forward to moving into my new place. Should have a lot more room to work on the car. Got a lot of bits I want to do but can't at the moment due to space and just the jealous idiots around the area. Got my mate on standby waiting to take the car into the body shop to sort all of the little niggles here and there so should be looking tip top soon :)

Good work mate :) Nice buys. As Rich said, the Hughes brace is lovely. Rear end on my car does feel tighter for it, and also the Eibach RARB.

On the boot shef and boot tray, I have both lol :) My boot tray is a mk1 Leon one which says LEON on it haha, got it off Maz.

Looking forward to catching up on Sunday. Shame about the weather but rain won't stop me ;)

Rain might not be a bad thing as my car has too many imperfections so should hide them haha!!

Looking forward to the brace, you know what I am like with my handling. Needs to be spot on

AmD Rolling Road - March 2012

Interesting day on Saturday whilst getting the car ready for the AmD rolling road event. Plan was to get several bits fitted but not all went to plan. Got my brother to give me a hand and as soon as we started looking at the bay we noticed that there were several jubilees which have come loose. Now I definitely know we tightened these properly so went over every single one to ensure all is nice a tight. The main set of jubilee clips are the ones on the B5 V1 TIP. After tightening everything up we went about trying to fit my splitter back on and have to say we FAILED (after a chat to D.K at the meet he told me the trick on how to do it..............use a jack to push it in :banghead2) Was meant to fit several other bits but time was against me so couldn't do them. Never mind, luckily the weather forecast wasn't looking too good for Sunday, which wasn't a bad thing as it would hide some of the imperfections on the car ;)

Went to the AmD rolling road event, which was a great one again. Always have a good laugh at these, plenty of banter and some seriously good cars. Too many nice cars but to name some of my favs has to be D.K, T0m, RDS, Murdered LCR.

Great drive up there in the mini convoy, especially in the twisties with Tom ;)

Car did well once again on the rollers, pulled 288bhp and 323lb/ft which is same bhp as last time but some little more torques found somewhere. Happy with that as last time happened to be a much colder day so good to see the car is still performing in the warmer days. Here is Mr smoothie..........

The only 'downside' to going to these is that you leave with so many ideas and a major urge to spend on the car. I know I have spent a lot of time and effort with the handling of the car and not really done anything to the exterior so that is definitely my next priority as it looked a bit average on Sunday with all the other sweet motors surrounding it. I am also getting a bit hungry for more power, after seeing the awesome results I now want to go hunting for more. I know exactly how it needs to be done, just going to take my time and do it seen as I don't intend to get rid of this car any time soon

was great to meet up mate, just a shame I'm so far away now :(

Awesome, thanks for the pic mate. Car so needs that splitter, looks a bit soft without it especially with Dan's black monster sitting next to it lol

Great to meet indeed. Let me know if your heading to any other shows, these southern fairies need to head up north for a few ;)
