I run those verdsteins on the front and I'm not impressed with them at all.

Wet or dry ?
I've had better tyres in the dry but on a wet road they are the best I've had, I think
I've run the OEM pirelli, Michelin pilot sports, Dunlop sport maxx and my last set were Yokohama Parada spec 2, these were deadly in the wet

They were on my Cupra r when I got it a few weeks ago, they just spin all the time on hard acceleration with the slightest bit of damp. I was very impressed with my old contact sport 3's on my old blue Cupra, would have these again if they are still avalable.

I will add my car has a jabba map that's quite aggressive so is not helping with the grip but I did expect them to grip more then they do.

Ive had a few different types and found the vreds to be overall the best, even trackday'd on them twice
Worst I ever had by far was goodyear eagle f1 assymetrics, really upset the esp and put me sideways multiple times even on slow bends for no reason, made it scary to drive

Can I thrown Michelin Pilot Sport 3's into the mix as far as tyres are concerned? I reckon they beat F1's especially in the wet... They certainly seem to last much longer too. I've just ordered a couple at £125 a corner fitted, from the AA tyre site (run by national tyres) which is one of the best prices around for them (can pick em up for £110 delivered from camskill/blackcircles if you know someone who will fit em cheap, but most places I've asked in the past charge about 15 quid to fit anyway)

Cheers for the info. That's a bit more than the Toyo's but you can't put a price on good tyres aka safety... I'll ask around about the Michelin's as they are meant to be really decent.

I would like to ask you what car suspension have you got? And how mm these springs have got in front and at the back of your car. I mean springs Eibach sportline. Have you got this one?

Living where I do here in Norfolk I spent a lot of time down back roads. Great fun but holly **** have I had some close calls with cars coming the other way not slowing down at pinch points or just not caring and going past me even where I swear you couldn't get more than a fag pack between the two cars wing mirrors.

Oh that and the mud..........

I've always thought the opinions of people who have tried different tyres on the same car are so much more valuable than someone who swears by one particular tyre because that's all they've ever known or tried a particular brand (probably one of their budget offerings) on a previous car and thought it was shocking, and therefore tar all the tyres by that manufacturer with the same **** stained brush...

Not trying to say anyone's view point is invalid by any stretch by the way - my comparison is not a perfect one either!

I had Eagle F1 GSD3s and Eagle F1 Assys on my old LCR which didn't have a rear ARB or front strut brace, so isn't an ideal comparison, but I remember them wearing faster than the PS3's I have now - current LCR has more torque and with the handling mods giving way to faster cornering speeds I'd expect it to go through tyres quicker... I had my PS3's fitted at a Goodyear specialist and was chatting to him about the F1's, he said he only used them coz he got them trade price, otherwise he wouldn't bother as they were so soft and only lasted a few thousand miles!

Just had 2 new vred sessantas put on the front, never known grip like them in the wet, definitely need some on the back now as the rear lets go beford the vreds have even broke a sweat, feel like im driving a RWD

Cheers bud It'll be ok soon enough. Just a bit of a pain really! Yeah I bet those lanes in Norfolk can be challenging at times.

I got the other bits sorted out in the end though yeah bar the leather door cards so I need to sell those soon.

That could be an advert for Michelin, lol. Thanks for your input though, appreciate it. If I can get them cheap enough I'd be very tempted for sure.

I've only ever had Bridgestone's, Falken's and the Toyo's on this LCR and the Toyo's have never disappointed but I'm open to change now.

Nice! Sounds pretty ideal tbh. The wet weather performance in this country is more of a concern, lol. Although I want my diff to get the grip down well come summer too

Ahh they might actually be what I have! What are the verdsteins with the diagonal tread? I have those on the back and what ever replaced them on the front. Tread pattern is very different.
