Some pics in the Mk3 forum "expected delivery" thread of a black 280 SC with bucket seats and, ........wait for it, ........ a 280 badge! First UK car I've heard of on here with one.

Possibly the early delivery "sans badge" peeps will be getting one through the post soon?

Looking stunning scott - not seen you out and about though, might have to take a drive past your house one night, by accident on purpose ;)

Yer. Mega busy atm but would be good to catch up.

Any meets in the area? I don't live too far away...

I think there is a local meet. I've never been to it. Would be good to organise something if not.

Yer, your car looks lovely.

Best stuff that's ever been on my car and I've stocked up with a lot of Gtechniq kit now. Going in on Fri for Matt to have a look at a few bits.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi Scott, what is this Gtechniq kit that you have? Also, which white is it, Candy or Nevada?

Thanks Scott and stunning looking car.

I get my Nevada white SC early next week, so i was wondering which specific Gtechniq product you are using as the wax/sealant/final stage?

It was coated in C1. I then keep it topped up with C2 every few washes. At every wash mixing C2 with deionised water as a drying aid.

Wheels are coated in wheel armour.

Windows coated in G1 smart glass.

The pics above were after I'd cleaned the interior with their APC and then coated with matte dash.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the car :)

Hi can I ask what mileage your on now and what your average MPG is, my FR PD ( mapped to around 215 bhp ) is averaging around 44/45 mpg.......but misses says I can get a new car if I want and I'm very very tempted with Cupra 280 DSG.

I do around 35 miles a day mixed driving and I don't drive mine like a mad man 90 % of the time ( im 40 ) so the cupra would be my mid-life crisis car ha ha....

I've been in diesels for about 7 years now and i'm not tempted to go to back to petrol by the much lower MPG figures that are banded around by the MK2 cupra boys on here, BUT how does yours compare to the MK2 CUPRAS???

I could live maybe 32/34 mpg is that do-able do you think? with mixed steady driving with the occasional blast ( read maybe more that the occasional blast )

For the record yours is damn near the exact same spec as what I've spec a time or to on the seat site, wife says just order one, but £28,000.00 is a big out-lay especially if im going back over to the petrol side GULP......

Thanks for any info.....

Just popped out to take a pic.

The MK3's tank is smaller so I save on a full tank over the MK2 and it goes much further with less fuel. I think I was getting around 23MPG on the MK2. Run on Shell V-Power only since new.

Bonus on this particular model is it's in the lower tax band too. SEAT have done an amazing job with this spec of car.

I'm sure I could have had a much better long term average but I like to have fun with it once in a while (nearly 40) ;)

The DSG helps at lot and is certainly the way to go.

Thanks for that syphon, i dont drive mine hard all that often which prob has a lot to do with why i average 44mpg ha ha.

I could live with it averaging 33/34mpg which going off what your averaging i recon i could achive..

The wife likes a A5 TDI black editions but there around £35,000 & just cant bring myself to spend that, do you think i could get a similar spec to yours for around £28,000 ? If i went with Seats own finance as they seem to have some pretty good deals.....

Ooooo im tempted....

Only had a week, but my journey to work is a stop/start 7 mile (30 limit road) trip, with home being 10 mile down bypass at motorway speeds with the odd blast for overtaking, and I have averaged 32mpg. Checked by noting mileage at fill ups and found the trip computer is accurate. So with your longer commute you should better that easy.:D

My commute is around 23 miles each way with a fair bit of NSL road and I'm averaging around 30 mpg. I do a lot of overtaking, though! I love that little pause while the gearbox does its shuffle, the turbo spools up and then you get fired at the horizon.
