I have a pic of how it is atm (before i put it on the car) and it already has the middle grill but i'm not sure what it is as the ebay auction said it was off an FR but the bit by the number plate is red not grey? Could you tell from this if they're standard or Fr? Thanks :)

thats the same bumper that ive got on mine.. i havent seen any other fr with it though as other frs have mesh running all the way along and around the front fogs

Seems to be an essential mod these days!

Might have to pick up a pair next time I have some spare cash. Mine standards need replacing again. Make sure you post some pics of your old ones when their swapped over ;)

Defo, it wasn't cheap getting them fitted but my God it's made a hell of a difference. It feels more eagar around the corners and solid

Yeah you should, I would highly recommend replacing them. Sadly i've thrown the old ones out now but they were pretty worn, wasn't ready for replacing but I had to replace a suspension spring so I thought I'd get it done at the same time

Service coming up in the next few days, gone quite a bit overboard but hopefully should make the car slightly more enjoyable :)

Haha yeah thats what I paid matey :) bit of an impulse buy tbh although was the cheapest shop price I found, surprisingly it's not much cheaper online.

Tbh I want to see if it makes much of a difference like they claim, that plus the k&n filter hopefully should make a difference even if it is small. I'll let you know the results bud, just waiting for a decent day to do it

That is a very good price mate, I was quite tempted by that stuff tbh but I have always been curious to see if using Edge will make a difference to performance, probably won't make too much but as I won't be upgrading car for quite a while I thought I might as well give it a go and make the most of what i've got heh

Fair enough mate, my Grandad was always a fan of Castrol oils, it had to be Edge or GTX, anything other than that simply wouldn't do!

Sounds a bit like me with electrical equipment, I usually only touch 1 or 2 brands heh

I'm a bit shallow like that haha, only the best for my car :D think next time I will go for the Quantum Longlife though, must be pretty good if VW/SEAT use it all the time

Can't wait to service to see if there's much of a difference. Hopefully should be a bit more growlier with the new filter

Think VW/SEAT use it because they make it... they own Quantum. [B)]

I keep saying to myself I should get a panel filter for a bit of growl, then I remind myself of the "pretty" bits I could have bought for £45.

Tell me what that air filter's like matey, thinking of getting a new one to get a lil more MPG.
Also what's this about cupra bushes, can you notice a difference?

Heh that would explain it then :D might explain why its pretty cheap too

Actually the panel filter was very cheap :) I managed to pick it up for about £30 delivered from POTN, it took a month to come though as it was out of stock but well worth the wait I think. I was thinking of a cone filter but at 3 times the price I don't think it's worth it, plus this panel filter is supposed to last for the life of the car as well which is pretty sweet.

Will do mate :) as soon as the weathers nice I'll do a full service and pop that baby in, i'll probably only give me 1hp more but it is supposed to make the engine growl a lot more and if I can get more MPG that'll be great :D plus I won't have to change the filter ever again is a bonus

As for the cupra bushes, the car handles nicer round the corners and feels more solid going over speedbumps. Weren't cheap to fit but I would highly recommend them if you're getting any suspension work done at the same time. One of the best mods I've done I think, bumper being the first haha

Cupra bushes make a massive improvement Will. The wheels no longer move within the arch when you brake!

Also gets rid of knocking noises round bends.

Good price on the K&N that Stezo! Nice one!

I agree about the bushes heh, I love cornering at speed now, even more fun :) I must admit you can feel the engine vibration a bit more though but thats a great thing if you like the noise

Well I had to make up for that expensive oil haha :p cheers bud

When one of my mates got in my car (another 1.2 like yours) for the first time, he asked what was wrong with it! :banned:

Clearly not used to the whirr and whine of a 3 cylinder haha!

Clearly mate, for such a small low powered engine my god it makes a great noise :D hopefully with the K&N that should make it purr even nicer. Shame it hasn't got the power to match the noise haha

Can't say I really noticed a power or sound difference with my K&N panel filter to be honest.
However, once it's in there you don't have to clean it for at least 50,000 miles, and I do feel a slight difference in the lower rev range.
I can't really say for sure as I've had it in so long now i can't remember how it feels with a standard filter.
Although my girlfriend had my car for a week and she said it felt much more fun to drive since she last had it for a long period of time, so I guess it does make a difference....

Sweet, well something is better than nothing buddy I suppose :)

Hopefully might be selling the K&N panel filter before I use it lol. Mixupz may be selling me his impressive custom made induction kit if I offer him the right price, if I do get it it should make quite a difference. Really want it :D
