Smashed wing mirror glass

Hi guys,

I just had an incident driving between a parked car and one coming towards me...anyway, I've smashed the glass in the my passenger wing mirror. The electrics in the mirror seems to be working fine. Can you recommend anywhere I can buy this online - I'm in Ireland. Also, is it easy to replace?

Thanks

Cheers Biglad...I'll bring it into the dealer on Monday and see what they can do....thanks....I was just thinking that they may take the p1ss because it's an electric mirror....should cost too much though I hope....

tbh cant you even pick that up from halfords?

dont think halfords have the heated 1. they jus have the one that sticks over your broken one. just get from dealers, the heated option, where you just plug 2 wires into side of it!

Cheers lads - it's a tear drop one I think....not square anyway....just want the standard heated one to replace it with....no doubt the dealer will maintain it's too difficult to fit myself! It just seems to clip in/out, with the two wires going into it, but thanks for the help anyway....

Hello lads,

Rang the dealer today - they've told me it's only 48 euro to replace the glass in the mirror - its about £30...not bad....

You should think yourself luck it was only £30.
I recently got rid of my LCR for a Mk5 R32 and some "helpful person" (insert you own words there...) kicked of my wing mirror last weekend.
Anyway, a new mirror and interior housing (reusing all the other parts such as outer casing, electrics, indicator etc was £165!
Initially I was also told that the housing I needed was on back order and they could not even estimate when they would be available.
Luckily, I managed to find a dealer that had one in stock.

So, to cut a long story short, £30 ain't that bad.....
Had a needed the whole lot it would have been nearer £400!
