I have a couple of spots of rust, going to try and get it into seat under warranty. I had a read through the service manual and it says your got a 6 year anti-corrosion warranty.

As mine is 2000 car it runs out in october, Going to try and get it down and checked on Friday.

Hopefully they will sort it :(

How come every reply from you is a qoute?

Ha ha i was wondering when someone would notice that!

I do it in case its a really long thread and when i want to reply to something someone said about 2 pages before then they know what im talking about or if i have something specific to say about their post! I kinda thought it made it easier for people reading my response (you know a more direct reply to that person, more personal etc like people to know im talking to them not at them kind of thing)

In regards to shorter threads the personal thing comes into play

Thats great news!!!!! Cheers for the info guys - sounds like its a common thing which if approached in the right way i might be able to get sorted with dealer then.......

Are there details anywhere i can read up on this warranty etc??

Ssstew - how come they wouldn't do yours then?? Did they give a reason??

You can all guess where i shall be tomorrow!!!! And CupraTGirl too i should imagine.

Cheers guys

Ralph

i did manage to get it done, was under the anti perforation warranty, it was my flaking paint on the front bumper which was just outside of the paintwork warranty, sorry got confused.

Rust on the rear hatch was noticed on mine last May(for the second time, but in a different place). Now all sorted under warranty again.Bit of hassle getting it done 'cos the local dealer has no body shop so had to contract it out to a VW dealer(contractual issues but still both under the VAG banner,SEAT's costs etc lower than VW's,so it was going to cost the dealer more money than they could recoup from the warranty).Very satisfied with the job.

Mine isn't alot, it would probably be less than £100 to pay for it to be sorted out of warranty. But the warranty is their to be used..

I'll kick up a fuss if nothing is done about it, but it isn't going to break the bank if i end having to have it sorted after the summer!

Well i called into Seat today, who where very helpful. The ladies behind the desk where certainly pleasing to eye so to speak ;)

A guy took photos of the problem among other things and said he would have to submit a report to seat who send an inspector to the dealers a couple of times a month.

I would need to leave my car with them for said inspector to check it out and then i would get my final decision.

Bit long winded but i don't mind going back to the dealers to see the ladies ;)

It did take me a while to get mine sorted, but not 2 months. And it took them 2 weeks to do the repairs...but I had a brand spanking leon cupra courtesy car (which got the revo trial straight away lol)
