Your in safe hands with AmD they will sort it!Ok so its been oww... 3 months... I suppose it time for an update really! And the update is.. Its been broken for 4 months and been cleaned only a few time!
Well after i fitted my polished inlet mani i managed to break my ETG sensor.... And guess what.. there where none in the country... and i got told the beginning of Feb before i would see one.. GREAT!!
The EGT sensor monitors Exhaust gas temps and when they reach 997 (i think) then reduce the timing so your engine don't over heat.. So if its broken is performs like a donkey on ketamin!!
So.. i got a phone call from my local VAG specialist a week ago!! WOO my EGT was in.. Got it fitted happy days... Cars been ready for the stage two map since it was broken so i took a long over due trip down to AMD where they put the map on.. As well as a new MAF and Water temp sender. Then they told me its had an EGT fault. GREAT!!! It has not been fixed, so i tell them that its had a new EGT so they say it could be the wiring! GREAT!!!!!!!!!! I waited 4 months and paid £214 for something that was perfectly fine!!!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... *breath* well potential!!
So its going back in tomorrow to have a look at the wiring! Fingers crossed its sorted out!!
If any one want a giggle,
When AMD RR'd it when it rolled in it pulled 220 bhp (pulled 246 before it was broken) then after the stage 2 map, it managed a whopping 240!!!!!! It managed a 39 ft/lb increase as well WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yay me!!
The morel of this moan is......
EGT sensors are like girls...
Get the old one back on and sell the new one on.I know AMD are great!! But its going to Total VAG have been dealing with it. I trust Greg and im sure he will get it sorted. But im just annoyed that it might be a case of, i didnt need a new £200 sensor.. I deno.. Just want it fixed..
Ok all Fixed (i think) Seemed very powerfull on the way to Hayleys and when i reset the MPG for the a5 i managed 40!!. WOOOOO
