Cheers Mate.. I'd be happy running 270 to 280bhp safe, to be able to drive the car without worrying... the turbos I have looked at are turbo dynamics... I'm lost about the after market turbo with custom mani etc... I wouldnt know where to start. I love my cars but im not mechanical minded....

Would a K04 produce 280?

A good stage 2 with good supporting mods should see around this
Any more will need rods and if you're planning on keeping it safe you'll probably want them anyway
Have a look at beachbuggy turbos, well known on the 1.8t vag scene for his hybrids and retains stock fitment. his descriptions give hp ratings of each hybrid too

Excellent. What rods seem to be ones to go for? I recently fitted oem LUK clutch and DMF. I'm going back to stage 1 after Christmas.... its running factory map currently.... so oem clutch wouldnt hold stage 2... so maybe later end of next year get it rebuilt

The branded rods for these mostly come from the US, like IE, INA etc
A fresh standard clutch should hold you on stage 2 power especially if planning on changing next year

When I get stage 1 map what gain should I be seeing? with the mods I have. Maybe 250bhp? I'd be happy enough with that till I get funds together...
At stage 1 250bhp.. Is that safe power for turbo clutch rods?

If you have full exhaust system and fmic you can go stage 2
As long as its linear map it should be ok, with a stage 2 and pulled back a touch for safety could see a nice 265-270hp

That sounds pretty good. I'm not a hard man on car. Always warm up cool down. wait till revs are us before putting the foot down etc... Will i need to change my clutch again?

It will be a bit more worn in than others but if planning on rebuilding new rings etc will freshen it up
There are lots of 150k plus 1.8t engine cars still going around now

Cool.. Do you have a rough idea of how much a mild rebuild would cost? including rods? Im only gaining knowledge on these cars at the minute :)

Hey Guys...

I'm working today. Just noticed the driver side rear carpet is wet... Can anyone tell me where the water comes in? I will search it when I get home. Just using Taptalk now.. Don't have the time to search now

Thanks guys

It only seems to be the driver side rear footwell. floor right in front of back seats. Under the driver seat seems fine.....

Pollen filter wouldnt cause this could it?

Nah it'll probably be the rear door seal, remove the panel then remove the metal panel, and reseal it with some butyl sealant/mastic
