everything on that list haha!
A great build that just keeps going and going.
Well done mate
Mental stuff Michel!
Your build and enthusiasm is truly inspiring.
that is an awesome car my friend!!
I have now bought 4x4 driveline from a Audi S3 8p, manual transmission
Still need to find some parts as wiring harnesses to haldex and fueltank?
And also find a fueltank from a 4x4. Then i hope i have everything needed?
Hello, im new on this Forum. but i've been watching this thread like a no lifer
so i'll start by saying "AWESOME BIULD" !! i saw the car in Bella center copenhagen a few months ago, and in sweden at Valläkre ( dont know how its spelled ) hehe.
very impressive.
But i ment to write considering the awd build. i am not sure, but i think you need a new floor in the trunk. my friend has a Golf 6 bluemotion and he had a golf 6 R before. the floor is very deep in the BM compared to the R model. i think the floor is raised duo to the rear diff and tank.
Please take it into consideration if you havent done it allready, i would hate to see you run into trouble with this extreme build.
Best Regards Andreas, Copenhagen
Hi mate, awesome car... will only make it better with the 4wd conversion.
I have converted my mk1 to 4wd, wasn't easy (or finished yet) but i think it'll be worth it when i finally get it finished.
The 4wd conversion has been done before to mk5 golfs / jettas etc (i think the mk2 leon shares the same components etc ???)
Can't find any links for you but i have seen pics on VWVortex of a mk5 golf with the rear boot floor getting swapped.
Apparently it's easier to do than the mk1's, as the rear trailing arms etc just bolt up the same as a fwd version although the spare wheel well needs to be changed or modified to give clearance for the rear diff.
Hope it goes well and best of luck !!
Just read all 15 pages. There are no words for this car. Surprised about the green though, it really woks. On the scirocco I think it just looks tacky.
Michel,
I can see the fuel tank is going to a good home. It's amusing how these projects start off as just a few changes, then it all goes wrong from there
Cheers,
Mark
Amazing
Ofc i liked it IRL
Looks very sick, alltho i hope the engine bay gets some more work done with the new engine, that is the ONLY thing that is talking against the car imo.
it sounds good you wanna keep it as OEM as possible. can you rly get it road legal with the 4wd in sweden ? cause the same thought crossed my mind, but there is no way in hell that conversion would get legal in Denmark
Im still trying to figure out what to do with my car, i wanna set my own touch on it, but its hard figuring out what to do, so its nice with a car like yours to give alot of inspiration
im glad you say all inputs are wellcome. cuz im not trying to trashtalk your car in anyways, i just think the car is so nice and very well made. and the engine bay lets it down, by being white, red hoses and some other colours. but again, when you are working with the engine, still doing mods and changing parts and so on i would wait with the last colouring details.
that is the only thing i would do
that manifold looks sweet, if its the same as Marc is using.
it is absolutly SICK what can get raod legal in sweden. but i think it is very nice they check everything and test it for the safety of others and yourself, thats how i should be !
i also hope it will go smoothly for you
No, in denmark is very hard to get stuff legal. im not even allowed to change the ECU software / remap it.
i talked to a guy who mounted a compressor on a Ford Fiesta ST 150, and some brembo brakes and stuff, he had he's car impounded and was charged 120.000,- DKR in taxes for the mods and 90.000,- DKR fine. so he needed to pay 210.000,-DKR to get he car back.
when that was done, they would NOT let it pas MOT iwth the mods anyways, so he payed 210.000,- DKR and was riding stock again..... trust me, i live close to the bridge, and i think ill move to sweden in 2012
atm my car is just stock with OZ 19" Ultraleggera rims. but i want to lower it, do something to the taillights or replace them, new exhaust system, thinking about getting the colour changed ( its Inferi black ) i have the rear window spoiler from the Aero kit ( not mounted ) and i would love the brakes from the new RS3/TTRS ( but that cant get legal here ) dont rly know what else to do with it.
That's right, i forgot you painted the engine bay, i actually said to my friends that it looks way better then before in white
i would paint the Fuse cover black, The intake black ( or what ever the the one is )
maybe see if you could get a cover for the Batteri, or you want to show it off ? those type of batteries are quite expensive
I RLY RLY hope you get it through, i would hate to see this beast go back to stock
Next time i see your car, i would rly love to say Hey and have a little chat if you wouldnt mind, cuz i dont like sneaking around the car without the owner being there, and there no touching allowed, and i respect that ofc. but maybe you would open the hood for me and so on, hehe.
Yea the Fiesta story is ****ing sick, it ended on almost halv a million for that car.....
i hate that we have so high prises on the cars in denmark, and still cant mod them.
the cars have around the same prices as in sweden, but to get numberplates on it, we need to pay 180% in taxes. so it becomes allmost 3 times the cost of the same car in Sweden.
My Cupra has only front seats, and a big trunk ( its called af van ) then i only have to pay 50% tax to get it on Yellow numberplates, but the cost from new is still 307.000,- DKR
