hmmm ?

I wonder how much more i need to get it working with dsg.
Got some very Good help finding dsg and other parts needed :)
And as it seems Im going for it... Dsg with 4x4.... Also found a manual

But just crossed my mind, Wonder what i would need to change inside to get everything working??.
Leon FR does come in dsg i think?

So have to try to find out what i would need from a fr to get everything working..
and also the cost of the parts needed? ..

Probably easier with manuall But i love the dsg... :)

What would you Do?
Worth the extra work to get dsg?

I have now bought 4x4 driveline from a Audi S3 8p, manual transmission :)
Still need to find some parts as wiring harnesses to haldex and fueltank?
And also find a fueltank from a 4x4. Then i hope i have everything needed? :p

also maybe later when everuthing works try to find a Haldex performance controller.
or if find one for a good price buy it from start?

also trying to find out if i can reuse the KW V3 coilovers and arbs or if i need to look after new ones.. Would be sad as they are quite expensive :( :p

I went for manual instead of DSG because i couldnt find DSG steering wheel etc..
and so much work getting it working, and also little risky with DSG for a 4x4 BT conversion.

and also i would need to change to a dualmass flywheel again and dont want that again just brakes and also the fact that the engine is balanced with the flywheel that is on now..

On wednesday or thursday the parts should arrive.

so soon the updates will start again with pictures for thoose who wants to see :p

Hello, im new on this Forum. but i've been watching this thread like a no lifer :D
so i'll start by saying "AWESOME BIULD" !! i saw the car in Bella center copenhagen a few months ago, and in sweden at Valläkre ( dont know how its spelled ) hehe.
very impressive.

But i ment to write considering the awd build. i am not sure, but i think you need a new floor in the trunk. my friend has a Golf 6 bluemotion and he had a golf 6 R before. the floor is very deep in the BM compared to the R model. i think the floor is raised duo to the rear diff and tank.
Please take it into consideration if you havent done it allready, i would hate to see you run into trouble with this extreme build.

Best Regards Andreas, Copenhagen

Hi mate, awesome car... will only make it better with the 4wd conversion.
I have converted my mk1 to 4wd, wasn't easy (or finished yet) but i think it'll be worth it when i finally get it finished.

The 4wd conversion has been done before to mk5 golfs / jettas etc (i think the mk2 leon shares the same components etc ???)
Can't find any links for you but i have seen pics on VWVortex of a mk5 golf with the rear boot floor getting swapped.
Apparently it's easier to do than the mk1's, as the rear trailing arms etc just bolt up the same as a fwd version although the spare wheel well needs to be changed or modified to give clearance for the rear diff.
Hope it goes well and best of luck !!

Michel,
I can see the fuel tank is going to a good home. It's amusing how these projects start off as just a few changes, then it all goes wrong from there :D

Cheers,
Mark

Hello Andreas!!

Aha ok , i hope you like it IRL also and maybe voted on it , hehe ;)

Nice to hear that you found and had followed the thread!! :)
Welcome and thanks for registrering to point out the thing with the floor, trying to find right parts now :)

With little luck now there is one i can buy, but wont know before next week. So keeping my fingers crossed :) if not I will try to find another one. Of course i could always cut out the floor and weld a new own made in there. But as my aim is to get the car fully legal with 4x4, brakes, widebody etc i want to make it so good and OEM looking as possible.

Best regards// Michel Dammfors

Hello Mate!

Thanks! I hope so also..
I also saw some threads with Golf conversions. :)
It is some modifications needed to be done but it shouldnt and i hope there will be no problems..

I will check your build also, seems like a nice build!

Thanks!!

Just read all 15 pages. There are no words for this car. Surprised about the green though, it really woks. On the scirocco I think it just looks tacky.

Thanks! Nice that you like the car and color. I was little scared and had many sleepless nights after i decided for the new color. But think it fits quite good also :)

Thank you for your help again!

Ofc i liked it IRL :D
Looks very sick, alltho i hope the engine bay gets some more work done with the new engine, that is the ONLY thing that is talking against the car imo.
it sounds good you wanna keep it as OEM as possible. can you rly get it road legal with the 4wd in sweden ? cause the same thought crossed my mind, but there is no way in hell that conversion would get legal in Denmark :(
Im still trying to figure out what to do with my car, i wanna set my own touch on it, but its hard figuring out what to do, so its nice with a car like yours to give alot of inspiration ;)

Thanks :D

What is missing in the engine bay? so i know all inputs are welcome :D
On vallåkra the old engine was still in and it was White. now it is painted black.

it will get little more updated soon when new turbo is comming. New bigger intake New SP Stage2 Intake manifold with extra fuelrail and 4 meth bungles.

maybe something more. :p

It is not easy but it is possible. Will have to register it as a Rebuilt car.
To do that i have to uppgrade brakesystem change the full driving gear and suspension etc.

Already talked to SFRO in sweden who does the re-registrations.
and it will not be impossible as i have done so much to the car.
But probably it will not be easy anyway. They check everything that it works as intended and modificatons is good and safely done etc.

keeping fingers croosed it will go smothly. . :)

What is your plans styling or tuning?
theres quite much you can do on the Leon to get a own touch on it. :)
Heard that they are quite hard on modifications in Dk ? :(

Cheers

im glad you say all inputs are wellcome. cuz im not trying to trashtalk your car in anyways, i just think the car is so nice and very well made. and the engine bay lets it down, by being white, red hoses and some other colours. but again, when you are working with the engine, still doing mods and changing parts and so on i would wait with the last colouring details.
that is the only thing i would do :)

that manifold looks sweet, if its the same as Marc is using.
it is absolutly SICK what can get raod legal in sweden. but i think it is very nice they check everything and test it for the safety of others and yourself, thats how i should be !
i also hope it will go smoothly for you ;)

No, in denmark is very hard to get stuff legal. im not even allowed to change the ECU software / remap it.
i talked to a guy who mounted a compressor on a Ford Fiesta ST 150, and some brembo brakes and stuff, he had he's car impounded and was charged 120.000,- DKR in taxes for the mods and 90.000,- DKR fine. so he needed to pay 210.000,-DKR to get he car back.
when that was done, they would NOT let it pas MOT iwth the mods anyways, so he payed 210.000,- DKR and was riding stock again..... trust me, i live close to the bridge, and i think ill move to sweden in 2012 :p

atm my car is just stock with OZ 19" Ultraleggera rims. but i want to lower it, do something to the taillights or replace them, new exhaust system, thinking about getting the colour changed ( its Inferi black ) i have the rear window spoiler from the Aero kit ( not mounted ) and i would love the brakes from the new RS3/TTRS ( but that cant get legal here ) dont rly know what else to do with it.

Hello Andreas,
Noproblem I understand you. :)
We waited to paint the engine bay until the other engine was done.
Now I have painted all engine bay Gloss black.

The red hoses are there still. So freaking expensive to buy new ones. :p
I already swapped one time from blue to red when the car was white.

I would preefer not to do that swaap again as would cost veryy much to do it.
and right now i have other things to put all the money on. But maybe later. :p

Also the white intake and so is still from when the car was white.
the new one wont have that color i assure you :)

Here is one pic from when i painted it black when engine and everything was out.

Here is from Bella center you can se that its black and atleast i think it looks much better when black. Still the old Intake in white.

Yes thats the same kind of intake Manifold that Marc uses. :D

Indeed it is good that they check security and so. I still want everything to be secure so i dont risk other or my own life...

But still quite nervous as if they dont like the car and moods i have to go back to stock xD
If it goes thrue it will be awesome and i think it wont be any problem. But cant be sure before they have looked at the car and testdrived it and so.

**** man thats crazy! Pay so much just to get the car back. And then still have to go stock :( Isnt that almost what the car is worth?

That's right, i forgot you painted the engine bay, i actually said to my friends that it looks way better then before in white :p
i would paint the Fuse cover black, The intake black ( or what ever the the one is )
maybe see if you could get a cover for the Batteri, or you want to show it off ? those type of batteries are quite expensive :p

I RLY RLY hope you get it through, i would hate to see this beast go back to stock
Next time i see your car, i would rly love to say Hey and have a little chat if you wouldnt mind, cuz i dont like sneaking around the car without the owner being there, and there no touching allowed, and i respect that ofc. but maybe you would open the hood for me and so on, hehe.

Yea the Fiesta story is ****ing sick, it ended on almost halv a million for that car.....
i hate that we have so high prises on the cars in denmark, and still cant mod them.
the cars have around the same prices as in sweden, but to get numberplates on it, we need to pay 180% in taxes. so it becomes allmost 3 times the cost of the same car in Sweden.
My Cupra has only front seats, and a big trunk ( its called af van ) then i only have to pay 50% tax to get it on Yellow numberplates, but the cost from new is still 307.000,- DKR

thanks :) Also like it better when black in teh bay.. Havent decided yet what color the new intake and other parts there will have, maybe black or green or?... :p

Its little risky doing the registration, but i hope it goes thrue. :)
I could drive it as it is without that but i want it fully legal.
If you see me dont hesitate to come talk to me just fun. But so you know my English isnt the best but i do my best ;) Of course you can check the car out maybe take a tesdrive also if its possible.

Why dont get a adress in Malmö and have a swedish registrered car ? :p
Sound sick with those taxes and such things :(
