Tim,

Just a quicky, think i've asked you before. Have you bolted your battery box down or welded it? I'm thinking of just spot welding / tacking it to the floor rather than drilling holes through the floor! Don't really fancy a boot with a load of holes in it.

I've used teg screws (roofing bolts) these cut there own thread on the way in, these holes are small though so doesnt really bother me
I did this so the box is removeable incase battery leaks, etc
Dependant on what the box is made from might make it unweldable to the floor, floor is steel

You really should try and make it secure as possible, if it breaks loose it will fly around the inside of your car like a 15kg sledge hammer

do the tek screws require a nut on the other end?

might try and get a few tek screws into the floor and take it to a garage to put a couple of tac welds on it too.

Don't suppose you have any spare screws? :D

If you go to most industrial tool suppliers they should sell them, just ask for roofing bolts
They dont require a nut, they have a hexagonal head then a thread and the tip look like a drill bit and come in various sizes and lengths
If you are locating like mine there is a head shield over the backbox so the underside should get too coated in crap
You will however need to drill a hole in the boot floor to make a new earth

A quick pic i saw when i was just looking through my phone of the day it was mapped

Also yesterday decided to roughly cut out the s3 rear floor so i can get rid of the shell, need the room as i may have another one to fill its slot
So with a little help from Barn and a 9" grinder i now have this sat in my garden on a trolley ready for drilling out

Im sure Barn will add the health and safety approved photos of its destruction

Lucky sod! I can't wait to get mapped it seems like one step closer and three steps back at the minute. How are you getting on with the map and gear based boost?

Not really had much chance to use it fully, however the gear based part of the map has come in handy when swift pulling out manouvres, etc so you dont sit there just making noise and smoke
Still loving 3rd and 4th gear wheelspin in the wet though
YEAAAAAHHHHH RANDOM DESTRUCTION!!! AWWWWWWEEEEESSSSSOOOOOMMMMMEEEE :D

This makes me smile, inside and out :cartman: Good progress lads!

You should come over sometime mate, hopefully the weather should be getting better soon and we can all stand around in oily clothes drinking tea with engine parts all over the place
