Your car did look good today Maz and a lot of the lads I was with wouldn't believe me at first that it was a diesel as they are used to dull, naff looking soot machines and yours is certainly not that. To say they were impressed was an under statement.

Good work again buddy! :thumbup:

Indeed Alex.

If I compare to sets of similar results with different mods on each from my 10 or so RR print outs.

**Approx**
Power: 245BHP and 360lb/ft
3000rpm = 360lb/ft
3500rpm = 320lb/ft
4000rpm = 310lb/ft
4500rpm = 280lb/ft

Power: 247.7BHP and 347lb/ft
2700rpm = 347lb/ft
3500rpm = 340lb/ft
4000rpm = 320lb/ft
4500rpm = 290lb/ft

Peak figures really dont tell the true story.

Yep the numbers on the paper sometimes don't really translate to the real world and vice versa. Its how it reacts and drives on the road that matters at the end of the day.
Car is still looking good though!
Alex
p.s. did you get my pics at all?

Thats partly why I did'nt run mine today maz, I know it drives well, I dont need a graph to show it.

We saw this last year when we had the SCN Vs UKMKiv day, as the day went on the temp's went up and the figures droped
Well the dyno room was hot today (it was a lovely day). However I dont think thats why my figures werent "normal". Like kenny said twin air feeds and me not warming the car up lost me those "peak" figures.

Yea - we know your car can make 260-70bhp all day long. Like we said get another RR when you got the intercooler and piping. I wouldn't be surprised if your overall BHP and Torque goes down but holds the power better across the range???

Cheers Ed, really glad people liked the car. I am also pleased yours was gleaming!

At the moment the car feels finished bar tyres, refurbing the spare wheel, boost guage and wiring in the s3 vents :lol:

Small Update
-----
Had the car raised 10mm on the front today so the car is a bit more practical. Car still sits lovely and low which I am happy about.

New map will go on the car this week. The existing map is being tweaked to give the car a bit more guts lower down the rev range and where possible improve the overall map which may mean she holds power even better than before (I hope lol).

Other happenings is I got a few details this week. One on Thursday doing a 08 Plate 3 series BMW and on Saturday doing Brad@AmDs Polo GTI.

In terms of future plans for the car. New tyres should be on in October start of November. Will look into guage to monitor boost and oil temp.

Will be interesting to see if you have increase or decrease handling feel.
I'd say you will probably have better handling right on the limit
Is there more power/torque in your set up?
I should have gotten a spin in your car at the National meet as I've never been in a fast diesel.
Did you fit a LCR front bumper?
Have you got any pictures with it fitted?

Umm raising it up there was a subtle change however never really tested to see what that change is. The car was too low before, 63cm from concrete to arch and is now 64cm from concrete to arch. Whether that translate into worse or better handling will find out tomorrow when I take some logs. As for having a ride, dont worry there is always the next national meet. If you ever come down this way let us know.

LCR bumper is on with the probee/skorchio twin cold air feed.

Car looking great.
Bet you surprise a few LCR owners, lol

Thats probably still a little lower than I'm running.
I can just get two fingers in between the front wheel and the acrch
I'm 13 1/4" from arch to alloy centre which was 1" drop from OEM LCR ride height.

As yours is a track car now I can safely say you can go 63CM (V3s can go lower than this still have good 5-6 turns left I believe). I will write up my review of the cars handling with my worn falkens. Once I get the toyo's on I will then start playing with the settings. I will probably adjust it to what you have and see how that works. I may need to make the bump/rebound stiffer as its a heavier diesel engine.

Yea at the AmD meet a lot of people thought it was an LCR when I turned up. Then they saw the ploom of black smoke behind. Pabs didn't realise it was a diesel when he was looking at engine bay hehe.

You going to do a track day down this neck of the woods?

With your set up you have to balance the amount of drop with the wishbone angles.
If the wishbones are not straight this will give you handling issues on the limit.
This is where the LCR has the benefit of having longer ball joint mounts on the back of the hub carrier allowing these to sit straighter with more drop.
With 25mm drop on mine I have a slight angle on my wish bones. Next track day I'm going to try adjusting the ride heights to see how it effects the handling.
I'll try raising the height about 5mm to straighten up the wish bones and see how is effects the handling.
I do plan to get a track day together with as much Seats as we can manage. Due to the distances we will have to travel I'll have to trailor the car incase all goes tits up and I prang it. This will have to be taken into consideration when booking somewhere too

New Map + Future mods

Had a new remap put on last week. It was more of a minor tweak of the existing map as Kenny and I both agreed that the map is perfectly setup for the car and no point in fettling. The change was to lower the boost from 4250 onwards from 1.9Bar to 1.8Bar. I found then when redlining the car from 2nd all the way to 4th she would go into limp mode. As a safety precaution, the lower the boost will mean when pushing the car hard things will be fine. To be honest I cant notice the difference in performance from the drop - if anything it may be helping the car burn the fuel more efficiently.

This has prompted me to go on the search for a boost gauge. After lots of searching and discussions with third parties and friends we have managed to track a good one down specifically designed for high boosting diesels. Watch this space in the coming month or so on the gauge front.

In terms of future modifications this will pretty much be it now till end of the year. If the right opportunity comes for cosmetic work I may do some however these will be small minor changes. Just want to concentrate on keeping the car well run, clean and enjoying her.
