This week I have fitted my armrest, still can't see why it is an option rather than standard equipment

Done a detail on the rear end to try and stop the smoke sticking to the car, I used my snow foam, Maguires clay kit, das-6 da polisher with different cutting pads and polish then a going over with ag hd wax, just gotta do the rest of the car when I can set a day aside and get a new clay as mine is perished now.

Had an hours drive to get these bad boys from a mk5 r32 at an absolute bargain price of £200 for everything, front and rear calipers, carriers, disc, pads and heat shield, looks like there is a lot life left in the discs not sure about the pads but I will just put some new ones in, gonna get them sand blasted then powder coated white with a little black fr sticker.

All being well the car is having a full service tomorrow and the injectors set up to try and stop the car smoking so much.

Going to invest in some g techniq c2v3 to try and seal the back and stop the smoke bonding with the paint

Let me know what the result is. Because I can't get it off my tailgate. Tried everything down to engine cleaner and high pressure hose.

Will do mate, it took a lot of scrubbing to get it off this week obviously having the warmer weather doesn't help, I have started to wipe the back down after ever journey now.

Just had a full service and the injectors set up, has it stopped the smoking.............. has it f**k, looks like I will be permanently running around on stage 1, just hope it has sorted the cold start up issue this engine has, the car does seem to want to pick up sooner though.

just read this through - great looking car! looking at getting one so was interested to see the types of mods people were doing and the dpf issues, although I always planned a remap and dpf delete no matter what I got. Can I ask how you're enjoying the car comparing it to the higher power petrol motors you've owned? I'd be coming out of an S3 which I've probably done too much to! Just can't afford the fuel plus just want something a bit newer with more kit. thanks, josh

Thanks for your comments.

I always planed to do a dpf delete and remap before I even got the car, I highly recommend having it done as it transforms the car, most people I have taken out in it are really suprised at how well it pulls.

If I am completely honset I am a massive big bhp power fan and I wish I had of looked into getting the 140bhp instead as darkside seem to be getting around 300bhp & 400flb with uprated turbo, injectors and obviously clutch and fly wheel.

I am still waiting to have a race against a mates remapped focus st, he keeps giving it the big man but never wants to race for some reason lol

cheers for the reply, you sound similar to me in the big bhp fan respect. that's a decent amount of power and torque. expensive though. my plans were not to go as mad on my next car as i have with the s3... so i'd be 'happy' with 220 ish and still getting much better fuel economy. knowing me though i don't know how long it would stay like that for...
