Yeah mate, just the springs.. I was looking at the wrong ones.. The ones for mk3 1.4 are £66.. Am I just better off getting the full suspension kit brand new? They only come to around £200ish.. And I know that they will be the right ones then wont I?

 tbh, I took the advice of a few others at the last RR day, when I really wanted my car lower, save the cash for a cupra, make this one look the best it can cheaply, tidy it up, do cheap mods, LCR splitter and the like, save the lowering etc for when you have a car worth the outlay :) Besides, how much more of a challenge will it be to make a car look good on standard height? ;)

Haha!! You know how to change my mind lmao..

Yeah, I suppose you're right.. Just the cheap but effective mods will be best.. My mind is gutted you said that, but my pocket loves you..

HID conversion kit is a must though.. They must come in around £80ish, right?

Haha, lets just say I was brought to earth with a thud. No matter what we do to our cars, they'll never have the performance to match the looks. it's better to make them look OEM+ as is bantered about, and enjoy going slow :)

click here Why pay £80 when you can pay half that? You'll have to check the car 1st, see if it's single or double reflector. The above are the right one for single reflectors, which most (but strangely no mine) non-cupra's have :) enjoy

PS: you got a readers ride thread up yet mate?

It's mighty easy to notice, if you look close up at mine and markmeus's headlights, mine has a line down the middle of it, mark's doesn't. double reflector are H7 fitting, if yours is double... if in doubt, take a pic and pm me a link to it and I'll see if its any help :)

Haha, thats all this websites about, being helped and helping in return :)

Bit chavvy, I know, but it sits well, and has bluetooth, so I can have my phone handsfree

What do you think?

I disagree.. It looks good.. Quite the opposite of chavvy.. The chrome Sh*t that chavs droop all over their dashboard looks bad..

Is it hard to put in?? It suits the dashboard.. :)

That actually looks really well - I assume there was quite a bit of work to be done to keep the climate control working?

Thanks, my impression of chavishness is a bit too broad, obviously. It all depends how handy you are with a dremel and soldering iron. I also used this specific radio as it pushes the screen further out than most, meaning I could make custom brackets to replace to originals and hold it further in the dash (although not as far as I wanted :() Put it this way, it took my dad and me an afternoon to get the whole thing done. but I'm a dab hand with a soldering iron (too much model railway toying and electrical GSCE's mean you get good with these things :p)

Hmmmm I did GSCE technology and design but that was a while ago - will probably give that one a miss, have a different kind of update in the pipeline anyway :cartman:

- nice signature by the way! didn't notice it before cos I had signatures and avatars turned off in work lol. Not that I'd ever be on SCN during working hours ;)

been like 6+months, what else is new?

Not a lot, got some cupra suspension, so now the rides a wee bit lower, but so much better, you wouldn't believe, it's more comfy than the floppy old 1.4 stuff. Also smoothed the buttons out of the centre console, which looks much nicer. but unfortunately the door catch on my driver side broke. I didn't realise, it flung out and hit a fence, buckling the door and the front wing. So atm the poor girl has a red door and a second hand wing...but she's on the road to recovery. I will have pictures up when I have a little pride in her :) Oh, and a bit of an appeal, if anyone has a head unit they're not using, or the PCB or aaanything, name a price, cos mine shorted itself (or...I did :s) on my new head unit, and I think it's blown a relay or a microprocessor in the circuit. so its currently stuck on 24C with AC on... no mpg now! :p Oh, and got rear mudflaps, means I don't need a rear wiper :D

I know this is sad, but I show this car, and marks to mates of mine, just to show how good these cars can look!! I'm 18 next month, so my car should be looking absolutely awesome.. I'm torn between, Cupra wheels, and OZ SuperT's...

We need pics dude.. Of everything :)

Right, car is BACK! looks awesome...on one side at least :p I'm going to Cornwall at the weekend, so will try to get a couple of nice pics then. in the meantime, I've got to put the sideskirt that I took off for the bodyshop back on, and give her a good wash... front bumper smoothing #2 (as no where around here seems to want to plastic weld my bumper....) using lots and lots of fibreglass filler, hopefully if I'm careful it won't fall out like it did last time. I SO WANT TO LOWER MY CAR! But, at the end of the day, it's a 1.4... 0-60 on paper, apparently is 15secs... Just need to keep telling myself to save the money for a cupra. Oh. Did a quote-in-advance, £900 fully comp for me on an ibiza cupra @£3500 car value. I'm looking forward to next year!

Sorry Jordan. Meant to get some pics before it went away, but it all went in a bit of a fluster, so couldn't.

Oh! Did I mention my LED tail lights? Got them a while ago, but they were annoying me as the difference between sidelight and stop light was far too small. So I took them apart and rewired them :) Also finished off the centre console. Another thing for pictures. Speaking of which, again, if anyone has a standard ibiza Head unit looking for a home, I'm in dire need of one!

That is all, for now. Just glad to have her back.

Regards to all!

I look forward to the photos Owen..
