I believe VIM requires an additional security code that is generated specifically for you car, not really sure how that works. I haven't heard of anyone succesfully coding it without an app.
This is how it works for older VAG units, via VCDS:

Instructions:
  1. Select control module 5F in VAG-COM/VCDS
  2. Select "Advanced ID - 1A"
  3. Submit the value from the "Serial number" field in the form below. If there's more than one serial number, use the first one!
  4. Select "Security Access - 16"
  5. Enter the personal login-code provided below
  6. Press "Do It!". If you receive a "code not valid" message try the alternative code. If neither code works it's likely that your control module doesn't support VIM adaptation.
  7. Select "Adaptation - 10"
  8. Select channel 48
  9. Press read
  10. Set the value to 255
  11. Press test
  12. Press save
  13. Press "Done, Go Back", close the controller and quit the software
  14. Restart the MMI: Press and hold down the function keys 1 (SETUP), the control button 2 and the control key at the top right 3 simultaneously until the MMI system shuts down. Release keys -> MMI system reboots
I have generated the set of keys for my car , based on serial number (if required by obdeleven) . Just can't seem to find where Channel 48 is (no such option in the software).
But anyway will keep on looking and post back.

Code generator is found here : http://audienthusiasts.com/Articles_VIM.html
Automatic VIM Generator:

"After retrieving your Serial number enter it in the box below and click the "Generate" button. You will be presented with a primary (Code1) and secondary (Code 2) to use. Always start with Code 1."

Just paste the headunit serial number and it will generate 2 set of keys.

Hi guys,

I just got the OBD11 (Basic version not PRO) today and tried to make some modifications but some of them didn't succeed. I am trying to put the 30 ambient color and it keeps failing. I already have the original with 8 to chose from but when trying to put the 30 it fails. Is there anything else i can try?
Sorry, I won’t have an answer for you but how did make to try to have more colors ? I’m really interested in that and I could see if I can way to make it work if I knew where to start

To anyone looking to activate full link/ mirror link. My local retrofitter says it's not possible to aquire keys to do it anymore, because seat is looking into selling this function themselves in near future. We must brace ourselves with patience and hope it's gonna be sooner than later.

Thanks man. With this setting do you get the warning every 10 seconds of put hand on steering wheel?: THIS ACTIVATES A SORT OF TRAVEL ASSIST. TO WORK, THE LANE ASSIST EARLY MUST ALSO BE CODED AND THE ACC MUST BE ACTIVE WITH THE SET SPEED. IT ALSO WORKS UNDER 60 KM/H.

yes I can't find a way to extend this time, but I'm not giving up. If you make the road with many curves every day it is comfortable, if you make many straight roads it is a bit of a pain. but i keep it saved my ass for distractions :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Have anyone tried coding coming home/leaving home lights? I don't have it and really want it as my driveway is extremely dark in the morning/evening.

Hi, here you can see a video: https://youtube.com/shorts/nZ7TmGoBGVo?feature=share
in the hairpin bends it does not work so well, and sometimes it jumps in the middle of the curve, hands on the wheel must be kept

They all have that for front assist. TA seems to be the fantasy thing use to be ACC a few years back. The boy racer thing to lock onto the car in front so as to get really close and get stone chips ;).... then all that involves to get the camera re glued back on with calibration if you have lane assist... then the threads this car is prone to stone chips :).

Having a DSG is helpful + lane assist ;).

Video in motion is available as One Click app as of today, 100 credits. :)
Will test it tomorrow as I have some issues with my Obdeleven account.
P.S. there is a promo 200 credits for 15 EUR and 1000 credits for 35 EUR with obd eleven, Cyber Monday . I would say it is a good deal.
