Plug in device, green light on left stays on (in the Wi of WiFi)

Connect to CLKDevice:

Green light on right flashes (in Fi part of WiFi)

Settings:

Then just open DashCommand and click Connection. Might take a few tries and unplugs/replug/reconnect. 90% of the time it works right away.

As for your PM...
I havent tried leaving it connected all night tbh. The power consumption should be pretty low so I wouldn't think it would drain the battery. Its so easy to plug/unplug that I just unplug it and use it whenever I need it

Tempted over using VCDS cables for £20. Just want a fault code reading really.

Are these iPhone's JB'd?

Not jailbroken. The WiFi one is the only one that works on non-JBd iPhones.

It's because Apple have locked the iPhones bluetooth stack out of the functionality needed for that kind of data transfer across bluetooth.

Not something I've done.
In fact, I did a recording last week and it seems to have disappeared :(

According to the developer, it's due to the PID for that reading being communicaated by the Vagcom protocol - something which I think he is working on for a future release (no timescale as it's a big job). I think for some cars Oil Temp can be read using an Industry Std PID but not with VAG cars unfortunately.

If ever that becomes available this app will be the best I have ever seen for motoring!

So does the wifi version and an iPhone correctly read all fault codes?

It could be something handy to have and keep in the car.

I had a Bluetooth version for my previous Nokia phone. Worked very well but now using an iPhone, the Bluetooth dongle won't work for me. I don't want to jail break it.

It seems to do the trick for me. Only ever had it hooked to vagcom once.
Found my P0441 errors, and associated error. Finds stored and pending codes.

Quite impressive really for a little iPhone app and cheap eBay cable.

No idea - didn't think the Service regime would have a bearing on whether or not the engine would include a certain sensor?

The sensor in the sump is called a TOG sensor and is how the oil quality is measured. This determines when the service is due when running a variable maintenance regime like long life servicing.

Seat uses fixed servicing so no sensor is needed, I suppose it saves the cost of installing the parts, they are quite expensive. VW and Audi usually have long life servicing so they need the sensor.

Aha - you learn something new every day! :)

Sucks though!
