Totally forgot to report in myself.
Got my WiFi reader off hpoolsteve and downloaded DashCommand for iPhone.

Took a while to get it to connect, but the trick ended up being:
1) Plug into car and run engine (doesn't seem to work without engine running for me)
2) Connect to the device on WiFi.
3) Set a static IP address in the iPhone WiFi settings
4) In DashCommand: interface type=ELM, data port = AUTO.
5) Enter your car under Vehicle Manager and add settings:

The diagnostics is simple but gets the job done. I read codes and cleared them successfully. It gets descriptions for the codes if it can find them.

Delays are defiitely there. About 0.5 seconds. So it's not quite real-time, but good enough.

The Race Track mode is quite funny. See where you accelerate, brake and keep level.
Data logger is quite good and you can play it back later as well.

Skid pad is useless.

Dashboards other than the one that comes with Dashboard load pretty slow, and some are better than others.

I've got one of the Elm 327 Bluetooth adaptors and have never had a problem.

Must be UK stock as mine only took 2 days to arrive.

Adaptor worked first time after pairing (code 1234) and connecting by choosing the adaptor in Torque's settings.

Haven't had time to have much of a play yet but the Torque app looks impressive so I bought the pro version and loaded some free add-ins from the play store. Just need to get a decent holder for my phone now..

The boost seems to work pretty well on my stock lc 180. It has a consistent 8psi but has spiked to 11psi. All settings seem to work and are pretty accurate all except the gear ratios. I need to set that up properly.

wot apps r ppl using on the iphone? iv only found rev and it costs 30 quid :O i had an app called torque on my old android and that was great and was a reasonable price.

Dashcommand is better than rev in my opinion. They are not cheap but Dashcommand has a lot more features but does require a bit of setting up but once done it works pretty well. Can't remember the cost but I got mine free with a jailbreak.

Using DashCommand. Much better than Rev imo.

The setup for an FR DSG is a few posts up. Cupra won't be far off.

It seems decently accurate as well
