ouch

i decided to go with adrian flux as they got my quote down to £380 :funk:
still £350 excess but they did say that i can do ANY modicication i like (without increasing BHP) for free, with no admin charge, and they chucked in a load of other stuff aswell.

quite pleased really :D

interesting place to ground an HU, why didnt you use the bolt that goes in to the chassis that is near the clutch pedal. (lift up the carpet in the driver footwell and there is a massive bolt there) thats where i have earthed some things to and it works a dream

See for the mods, what's the age you have to be before you can do that? Or is there? I tried with them for my car and it was just in no comparison what so ever with Norwich Union for me...

norwich union HATE MODS.

i have been driving 3 years and have 3 years NCB, i also took Pass plus ( i would reccomend anyone to do it if you have passes within a year.. trust me the money you will save on your insurance easily outweighs the reduce cost of insurance.. pass plus = £150 ish (or something) insurance saving was £380 for me on my first years insurance.

also i have done internsive driving to improve my own skills (i may do this again as i think it would be a good idea for everyone to do it every 4-5 years)

im 21 nearly 22 now so im getting a bit older, also i have 3yrs ncb which helps. car is kept in a locked garage.

yeah it depends a lot on where u live which is what most ppl forget. I renewed with adrian flux and got everything in for £450. Breakdown cover is £50 for the year, excess is £100, 1yr ncb. Then again im 25 aswell! Remember to mention your part of a car club, takes a fair bit off!

well guys. i did some milage over the weekend (up to inters and back), so most of the journey was motorway / A road.
I sat at 70 according to the twat nav, but did have to venture up a little when over taking. also i had to boot it a few times due to the convoy not waiting up for me :(

sooo my MPG figure... 44.4 mpg :D.

i was not sure after what to expect as i did have my sub and a few other heavy things in the car. but i guess its not too shabby for a 1.4 doing 294 miles, when it has 120K on the clock and is 7-8 years old!

Gonna work my figures out that I jotted down a few weeks ago

***EDIT***

these are figures from a few weeks ago, never got this many miles from the tank. Think I drove carefully all week.

381.2 miles
42.77 liters (9.4 gallons)

40.55mpg

Not bad for another 7-8 year old car, 129,000 and massive 15" sub in the boot lol

they are AP Coilovers, they where £308 delivered.

adjustable :-o ... urm yea just a bit. when we fitted them to the car for a laugh we set them about 1 inch from the bottom of the threads all round.. we tried to put the car down but non of the jacks came out as it was so low, and all the mudflaps where on the floor.

i can drop around another 4-5 cm at the rear and around 7-8cm at the front,
inother words i dont think it will ever ever be able to use full drop.

the ride is fantastic aswell. i dont understand why people say 'cheap coilies' have a uber harsh ride. infact i think i would like my ride to be a bit stiffer!

but it is perfect as it is. its nice and smooth on straights and the car is very settled, then chuck it arounda corner and it stiffens up. :funk:

sned me a link to them

my ride is harsh. definately need new shocks for the MOT. depending how much a set of shocks will be, I may get coilys, although someone did say shockers are only £20 a corner

Adam: You got spacers yet? That's one thing I said I MUST have if I get coilys. At the heights it's at now, I just about get away with the looks, but any lower, then it definately needs the spacers.

Also, looking at mine bang from the rear, it's starting to look fat. Just needs wider wheels and spacers and it'll look **** hot

i did have 20mm spacers.. but i cant have them on anymore :( my car rubs with them on, so i either raise it up a little and have them on or i will do a swop with some one.
i have 20mm spacers and want 15mm spacers. i will do a direct swap (you pay for postage when you send to me and i pay to send mine to you) basically im sending heavier spacers so the opposite party should pay less than me AND get better spacers.

any offers ?
also i may have to get my arch rolled or cut a bit as there is a bit of rust back there:confused::cry:

noticed my rear passenger arch has started to get a little rust :(

few scratches here and there than i'm gonna try and correct myself. afterall, way i see it, is that I probably wont sell the car on, so will keep it until it dies (if it ever does)
