I love that you can only see a slight hint of the front upper strut brace

Do you feel any difference with it fitted? Would be almost invisible on my red wagon 😎

Found a bigger filter with a velocity stack, which should work better than the provided filter

Legends say u don't need cold air for a turbocharged engine because of the intercooler that cools the air but idk. I would want better sound over lil bit of power too if I had petrol engine :D
That engine bay pretty clean! :>

@Drax it is! But that will probably change over the next months with warmer weather and it becomes more dusty over here. Right next to my driveway is a small patch of land where a horse normally resides. In the summer I can wash my car every day if I want to with all the dust.

Picture for clarification. The Fiat 100HP is from a buddy of mine, proper machine made for fast cornering. Also I like his exhaust note

I like to try things, so when I can find a bigger filter, I will buy it and test it. Bonus points when the filter has a funky color

Left: provided filter with intake
Mid: Velocity stack filter with aluminium top hat
Right: Big purple filter with open top

Also added some extra foam in the trunk and under the backseats. Drawback, its quite thick, so in the trunk I could not fit the holder for the tools etc anymore (I stored them separately in the trunk).

And a little preventative maintenance, replaced the serpentine belt and the tensioner. Seems there was an oil leak a little while ago, so happy that I replaced them.

Went with a Continental belt and INA tensioner, even though INA also supplies a belt with the kit

I love watching this thread - some of these mods I’ve already done… and others I see you do them first, figure out if I have the skill to do the same (usually no) and then shamelessly copy 🤣🤣

I’d actually done the front strut brace ages ago (mines a Hardrace strut for a mk7 Golf R, but bolted up perfectly) and have to say it’s one of the best mods I’ve done for handling! No idea why people say the MQB platform doesn’t need them - DEFINITELY makes a difference

@TripleBob I appreciate it my man!

And thats the idea, hopefully help or inspire others to do the same or something similar when they run into the same things. I try to film everything I do, but creating the vids takes up quite some time.

I agree, the strut bar is a cheap mod with more impact than I would've imagined from the start. Next handling mod is probably a bigger rear arb (y)

Updates for Easter :p

I wasnt done with the looks of the exhaust. Even though I love the single big round tips, I wanted to add a little splash of colour. So I bought the same tips, but with the "burnt flame" look. They are a bit taller, which I think looks better when combined with the Rieger diffuser.

My boi Nelson with the tips (he was not amused)
