Purchased my Formentor in June 2023, and picked it up September 2023
It’s a V2 1.5 with optional sunroof, safety and driver pack XL and graphene grey paint from Swindon Cupra
Within the first 3 months, I had to take it back due to suddenly losing the ability to control my sunroof, after booking in for a Saturday morning fix, leaving my house at 7am, driving 1.5 hours to make sure I got there earlier, I got a phone call as I’m pulling up to the dealership to say they actually don’t have a technician coming in, 1.5 hour drive home, 100 miles, and £30 of fuel down, I was still in the same position.
I was then booked in to come back 2 weeks later, to have a new sunroof control panel fitted.
After getting the control panel fitted, the issues seemed to resolve themselves, until November 2024, when suddenly the car started making outbound phone calls to customer care and breakdown, as well as freezing up the control panel making it unable to cancel them off, or enable interior lighting.
It was then booked back into the same dealership to have it looked at.
This time they came to collect the car, but no loan car.
After giving them strict instructions not to wash the car, and making sure it was written on the paperwork, I was told it would return that evening.
I then got a phone call at 3pm to say they decided to keep it an extra day, as they hadn’t actually got round to diagnosing it, I finally got it returned on Friday evening, and which point I was told, someone will be in touch to organise getting the control panel replaced, again.
First thing I noticed was that the car had in fact been washed, and various scratches now put into the paintwork.
I phoned up the dealership to ask why it had been washed, at which point I was told it hasn’t been, they have no record of it being washed, so my complaint was ignored as they had nothing to ‘attach the complaint to’.
The car was then taken back in to have a new control panel fitted, and I was given another phone call to say that the control panel is in, but the sunroof doesn’t work, so they’ll need it again for another week in the future to get that sorted.
Last week, the car finally went back in for the sunroof issue, and I received it back with a working sunroof, and no phone calls being made from the car.
But, they’ve since somehow disabled the projectors from moving up when the car goes into high beam mode.
Another phone call to the dealer, and they don’t think it’s related; is a new fault, and therefore needs to go back again for more fault finding.
I’ve raised a complaint with the dealership, but effectively been told I either take it back for them to try fix it again, or take it elsewhere.
So I’m now 600+ extra miles, and £200 in fuel out of pocket, and having to send it back to the dealership again, because they’ve somehow managed to break something else on it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can escalate my complaint, or anything else I can do?
Massively fallen out of love with the car now, and truthfully just want rid.
