You can sort of follow the progress on the mst live timing site. A bit tortuous waiting for the end of the first lap, but luddites like us with no tv have to 'watch' it that way

888 will moan like crack *****s that the Leon is too light/fast but the end result is they didn't develop the car, and bought in crap drivers. can you say budget cuts.

Exactly. The Vauxhall's a pile of crap. Just goes to show how bad the Astra is when one of it's drivers from last year is miles ahead of it in what's effectively a 3/4 year old car from a defunct manufacturer!

It's quite refreshing to see someone other than Vauxhall be the top manufacturer (even though there are only two of them) and for them to be the ones struggling for a change like Peugeot, MG and Honda did when they were running away with it.

Neal did fine considering he had no ballast.

Race 2 he's heavy though, so he's gonna get his ass handed to him

for those that didnt watch the race - how did we fair?

Was Neal in a commanding position or did plato push him?
Thompson spent most of the race defending his position from Turkington.
Turkington gave him a few nudges here and there but, as Thompson himself said in the interview afterwards, they were "in the spirit of things".

Plato was pushing Neal fairly hard but was never close enough to make a move.

Should be different in race 2 when Neal has got full success ballast on-board.

Neal looked safe enough always having .5 to .9 of a second lead on Plato and plato said afterwards that he was pushing as hard as possible so the cars are equally matched with strong points in diff areas. Race 2 should be intresting with weight changes.

Thommo and JP are good like that. They'll dish it out if they need to, but never really complain when they get a bit back. If only the driver in car number 1 could adopt that attitude..........

Definitely a Leon win on the cards for the second race. James has the lighter of the two cars and is on the good side of the grid for the first corner, so I reckon he might get past Neal down the inside into turn one. If he makes a good start anyway.

They'll need a good start, the Leon doesn't seem to get off quite as quick as you'd expect, what ive seen of it so far this year, does bog down a little, soon makes up the gap, but they do appear slow off the mark.
