Right !

For a while i have been considering my options with my alloys. I was looking around at BBS alloys but just couldn't justify the money so looked towards other options of alloys. I was searching around for a set of Ibiza FR 17" alloys but just my luck there was non around.

After looking at my alloys i decided i quite liked them. The only thing i disliked was how the brake dust seems to stick to the corners of the spokes even after a 1 mile journey so i decided on getting my wheels powdercoated by a local refurb company.

Non of the wheels were curbed it was just the condition of pitting in the paint and paint peeling away so it was a simple powdercoat job.

I went for a satin black and also got myself some new Seat badges to go on the freshly refurbed wheels.

Here is a quick snap before i get my new tyres fitted at work tomorrow hopefully if im not too busy.

Will get a pic up soon of the wheels fitted to the car. Suppose i will need to give the car a good scrub now!

But unfortunatly on my journey home from work and was sat stationary at island and some woman used me as a brake from 20mph ! Not a happy bunny !

She admitted liability and going to pay for repairs.

This weekend i am going to crack on and fit my hybrid gt1749vb turbo

Obviously get new gaskets when you put it on fella. You wanna put it on and keep it on! Not have to worry about it blowing etc. Who are you getting to map it?

Will be using new gaskets for manifold. And got fuel line pipe and jubilees incase i need to cut oil feed to turbo. Will be getting p-torque to custom map it for me.

looking good mate the wheels look awesome. was it you behind me this morning on the A449? No Hids?

Yes mate that was me. Didn't realise it was you till i looked on here. Left a msg in your progress thread. Should meet up sometime so i can have a look round your new motor ! Such a nice blue, not seen one that colour around here in the flesh.

Today i woke up and set out to fit my hybrid turbo.

I started at 10:30 and got my turbo removed by 12:30. I decided to remove egr/inlet manifold and take turbo out from the top.

New gt1749vb hybrid vs old kkk turbo

I then noticed that one of the threads on the hot side was chewed so had to rethread it. I got the turbo fitted on the car and decided to tackle cleaning the inlet and egr. They were caked in sludge ! I will remove them again in the summer and clean again.

I got the inlet bk on but i decide to call it aday as it was getting dark and after spending hrs outside in 0oc i was slightly cold !!

Will crack on tomorrow and finish up. Will get logging on vagcom to set the actuator up.

Been driving around with the hybrid turbo on for 2 weeks now. I can tell the power kicks in slighly later in the rev range but the power is there much further than on the old kkk turbo. Overall happy with the new turbo until i get the remap shortly !

Got a slight oil leak to fix (Turbo return gasket i believe) i have the gasket here waiting to fit.

Yesterday i dropped my car off at the bodyshop to get my rear bumper removed, flatted back and sprayed back up after a lovely kind woman decided she would like to use my rear bumper as a brake whilst i was sat stationary in a que of traffic.

While i was waiting for the bodyshop to open i took a few snaps how the car is looking now:

The car my insurance supplied me with is a 2010 VW Golf 2.0 GT TDI (140bhp) so im quite happy rolling around in that for a few days.
