Doesnt bother me that they stripped the aircon. Just proves that the car is capable of it with nice set of tires and brakes and a little weight saving. No big deal, I seriously doubt the Renault car was bog standard when it did the last record no matter how much the plead their case.

It did what it was supposed do and push the car into the vision of people that probably never gave the Leon a second thought as a car to own.

+1

its not like theyve stripped out all the interior, added a bigger turbo and then broke the record.

:)

I spent the day trying to get best deal possible for a new cupra. Fun trying for sure, broadspeed and drivethedeal are the best. Problem I have is to either part ex [DTD dont do that] or sell my mrs car privately.

Options I am going for:
Emotion Red, 5DR
Full Leather
Winter pack
Space saver wheel
Seat Sound system

I wanted adaptive cruise but mrs said that if the she catches up traffic with standard cruise she just overtakes lol! Cant argue with that!

Nice spec, though if you order leather it comes with the winter pack (or so I believe). I'm in the same boat, went via drivethedeal and will be selling existing car privately in due course.

Reading the expected delivery time thread there is a suggestion that adaptive cruse adds to the lead time. Not sure if that is true or not, but I spec'd it.

Yea winter pack does i just wrote everything out.

On the DTD config options I notice it allows you to tick both leather and winter pack. Need to watch out for that as the list price won't be accurate if you tick both.

I am a big fan of leather and was tempted to tick it myself. However, the other half really liked the alcantara finish so I decided to stick with that. The kids are now old enough not to be wrecking them (which is one of the main reasons I usually spec leather).

Exciting times. Congrats on the order.

Did you manage to get a local dealer to offer any discount, or did you buy online?

Dealer to be fair offered 1500 quid off on top of the 1k seat give from the 0% finance. However I still ordered through Carfile which gave a better discount :)

Interesting, carfile worked out around £800 more expensive for me. It says on their site that you don't get the £1k Seat deposit contribution if taking the 0%.

Pasted from site :-

"0% FINANCE WITHOUT A DEPOSIT CONTRIBUTION IS ALSO AVAILABLE."

Did you need to speak to them to secure a better deal than shown on their website then? Ticking my options comes out more expensive and I was put off looking any further by that comment about not getting the dealer contribution. Perhaps you nee dot ring to secure a better deal?

I am envious you are able to p/ex though. I have the hassle of selling the wifes car privately and trying to time it so we aren't without a car for too long. Hassle I could do without, but there you go, it is what it is :-(
