I wonder if UK gets the one power output option, but the rest of europe (and mexico etc) will get the option

oooooh starting to get excited now!

Have only been with Seat for a couple of years so not the most knowledgeable on past models but has the Cupra always had more equipment / spec and a lower price than the comparable Golf Gti? Am now trying to play the guessing game on expected price, pointless I know but please humour me!

I was reading this article - http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/seat/84909/seat-suv-first-official-details - on AutoExpress regarding a new SEAT SUV and they go into a bit of detail towards the end regarding 4x4 and the Leon - according to them it looks like it will only be a Leon ST feature but at the same time will be available on ST's that aren't Cupras.

If true, it'd be all too easy to put 2+2 together and say that a Leon Cupra R could be 4x4… which I'm not going to do

Excited indeed. Would be great too if that grey colour from the cup racer was an option on the Cupra :D

CJXE might be the lower power code and CJXA the higher power code - same as per S3 and Golf R as I recall.

Wonder if, however, CJXA might be if it has 4x4 though :cheeky:

Still no details on drive train (other than manual or DSG?) - ie 2 or 4 driven wheels?

Oops - S3 and Golf R are CJXC as posted on this thread on page 5

PS - I hope you are right as I would be a bit annoyed at being hasty by ordering the Golf if it was basically the same car under the skin :)

Really can't see if being 4WD. I think the fact they are introducing DSG to the Cupra for the first time is a step in the right direction. I'm holding out hope that a loopy Cupra R will get green lit in a few years time. :)

However doesn't mean much that the engine is the same as Golf and S3. As you'll no doubt recall the engine in the Mk2 was the same as the previous Golf and S3 too and still didn't get their drivetrains.

Its also been touted as being faster than an S3, which makes me think its not packing those tranny losses ;)

- Ignore, as I'd got half way through this and not seen Z's post-

Good spot, would make me bankrupt :)

Maybe the secret surprise would be a 4WD model, but they surely would be saving that for the R. They'll just have too many editions of the Cupra otherwise

265 x2
280 x2
280 4WD

Yeah the engines have been shared for a bit now.

As for being faster, it depends on the definition of faster I guess ;).

It wont be faster to 60mph from 0mph, it won't be faster on a wet day or down the 1/4 mile than an S3/R with the same engine/power. On the move, no doubt it will be just like the MK2 Leon Cupra/R Ed30/Pirelli is to the Golf R/S3 :)

Will be very interesting to drive one when they come eventually though :D

This has just appeared on the internet, the registration plate is fake because that reg belongs to one of the press cars (5-door red FR) so I'm going to say its a Photoshop
