sorry wrong mannerism - i meant speedo cluster as in the clockset :)
the vr6 clocks which runing thew 2 resistors i.e
one 12v switched feed
pin 10 for the tacho/rev counter
js3x5 from the ms unit which is a comman collector
which makes it work

regards speedo as everyone was telling it carnt be done as its a hall senser on the 6speed o2m gearbox , i like to prove poeple wrong and made it work via 3 gearbox sensor pins
pin 1 12v
pin2 to clocks
pin 3 switched live , easy and works fine

but regards the needls stopping , this made be because usely ur supose to use a the full mk3 vr6 engine loom /which i couldnt use and had to make them work best i can thew the mk1 golf caddy wireing loom ,, but least they work , so chuff it , theres only the pin 21 g1 fuel which has one wire which i carnt get to work as i tryed the same idea , i.e earth/live resistor/and evern a varible senser with no joy

if it was available i would have setup with the full loom and clocks to match the motor - that way you what's working properly and how - swap it to alternate after

so what's left now then and what kicked the temp gauge into life ?

prob was the engine from the mk4 4motion didnt come with one , plus because i turboed it , and spec ive used vag.com dosent suport a map for the set up type , regards temp , i followed the 4 tracer wires from the rear of the clocks , and solderd a resistor in , (as i think this maybe in the oringal vr ecu , so then once earthed the gauge works a treat , fiderly but well chuffed its working , only thing i tryed the same with the fuel gauge with no joy ,, any ideas ,
