Great write up, and good to see the use of one of my favourite words 'wibble'.
10/10!

Really great write up and completely echoes my view of the two cars following a test drive in both. I make the same comments about most 4wd powerful cars.

Cost was also a huge factor when I bought my Cupra.

Just read the write up, and that's re-assuring to hear. I tried out a Golf R DSG, and was underwhelmed by the driving experience, as the OP said, it was fast. In my view it simply didn't make enough noise, and I found that the Mk3 TT 230 STronic was actually far more fun to drive with the upshifts and the noise it made.
From what you have written, I look forward to trying out a 290 Cupra DSG when the time comes to start looking again (soon hopefully!)...
I'm after a car which makes lots of noises, but also looking a bit of a sleeper as to not attract too much unwanted attention, so hopefully this will fit the bill nicely!
