MIB3 update not working.

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to update my Arona's MIB3 from 0782 to 0870 using files from mibsolution. The update finishes normally as if everything went ok without any errors. But when i've checked the version after rebooting I found that it still on the old version. When i tried for a second time i noticed that all items in the update screen shows N/A as you can see in the below screenshot. I've tried to update to 0841 instead but still getting the same results.

Any idea what is the issue?

I tried to look there but got stuck at the logon screen. How did you create your account as I can’t see any options
You should use UN: guest PWD: guest
But for some reason it does not work now! Maybe they are fixing something at the moment. Wait for a while and try again.

Ah yes I’ve tried on computer and it says that on phone it doesn’t. Hopefully it will be up again soon.

For what it's worth with worth on mib2 high the N/A means not applicable, no work to do and suspect the last Y means it's seeing the update script only. It thinks you have it already / don't need it I'd say.

Problem with the mibsolution.one files is there will be a back story but that isn't given as to how to use all the files there. It's a dump library. @East Yorkshire Retrofits that sells ($) some of the files provides hand holding within the charge, other than that you need to search out the information. I pass on this one. Don't have mib3.

Note ($) did, its now a personal service at their location.

i'm not sure about it but you might need to update prior version like 0841(also avalible on mibsolutions) and then to 0870, i had such thing with software relatred thing in the past (not car related though)

*this is just a guess am in no way an expert or professional (means i take to responsibility if anything bad happens)*

**i updated my ateca from 0841 to 0870 using files from mibsolutions

I'm using Mac. And always deleting hidden files - what else i need to do ?? What i need to do with cleanmydrive?
Macs write like an extras carriage return or line feed some Mac file nonsense to the files. The firmware, map and radio logo files are all signed with SLA signatures so if the files aren't as manufactured and signed by VAG the unit won't see them after doing an SLA signature check. It will just sit there and do nothing.

Why in mib2 high and mib3 the VAG notes are use CleanMyDrive on a Mac. You copy the files across onto the drive then run CleanMyDrive it then dusts off all the Mac stuff taking out the excess material added by Mac. You might not have removed all of it inside the files.

They were using SLA1 on mib2 high... they have upped that now to a higher level of encryption.

For info here:

The cars infotainment unit has the public key built into it. All VAG cars have the same public key least they did for mib2 high. Only VAG knows the private key. You need GCHQ / NSA computer power to reverse engineer the private key by brute force methods. Signing the files is put in to protect integrity of the files from modification or transmission error.

The signature you can see by a bank of codes. The mib2 enthusiasts found a backdoor into mib2 units via the POI import so could manufacture firmware files without the signature. The all in one files recomputing the metachecks having taken out the signature and adding the kitchen sink as well, FeC update, Gracenotes etc. Vag got wise to this and took out the poi import from mib3 and the user radio logo import as straight user generated files. Why you can't import your own radio logo graphics as mib2. Part of the overall lock down within mib3. 🔐 I'm told you can still do on the bench stuff. That isn't locked down so well.

Adaptor is the other thing. A usb-a to usb-c some of them aren't wired for data just basic voltage. Apparently data ones are sold with data marked up. The reversible sticks are liked and those with a flashing LED so you know when there is data activity.
