Hello all,

I was trying to install MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0516T on My current MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0468T but just clicking on the update.

This message pop up at beginning of the update : Unable to read the meta information file, dependencies of update not met.

NB: I have downloaded the files from mibsolution and metainfo2 file available on the main root folder sd card.

Any thoughts ?

Yours,

1) Idea to use the search function here in the forum. 2) Idea to use Google search... officially you can only update MIB2 with the same firmware range. So FW 04XX. to FW 04XX. You now have to carry out a manipulation if you want to get to FW05XX. Be careful, any manipulation can lead to the device being destroyed. Why do you want to update?

Hey Cairus,
I just to have latest version, if there is any improvements, current version running just fine without any errors, However I want to try latest one if it's safe and working, i will try the mentioned steps later.
Thanks,

Aside from @cairus ‘s note of caution on incompatibility issues, if it was my car and everything is working just fine with the current version then I’d not consider updating.

As the saying goes ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’…………..🤔

Basically mib2 standard has a train for each year of its 5 year life... almost. So each year they started a new train, however bug fixes were issued to each train. It's generally thought towards the end the fixes were on AA. Technically the updates were never meant to go from one train to another. If you do attempt to do it, it can hang in the reboot. Clash of memory banks. You have to take them apart and short pins. That's on a Google. Mib2 standard tool kit or something... on the Leon mk3 firmware thread can be used. Hobbyist thing to do a train update. But if your hobby isn't computers I wouldn't bother. A few people have now done that on the thread. More Skoda people. Seat drivers were late to the party. I kept saying there is nobody with experience here of that for a time, then it took off.

In the @East Yorkshire Retrofits can do this for you if you send the unit to them. Least that was a service they use to offer. The mib2 standard train firmware change and you get the unit back on 516.
