With a dyno it is in a controlled environment so you dont need to drive constantly about roads. Also no chance of getting done by speed cameras or the police.
With Live Mapping you may get the feel of the map straight away which you dont have with a Dyno until you get it out on the open road.
I would say do as much tuning as you can on a dyno and then fine tune it on the road.
Best option would be to tune on track but thats probably not very likely.
Thing is the open road is where you are going to drive the car not the rr and i can't see there being any rr that can provide the sort of airflow you get out in the open (unless its in a wind tunnel, lol)

You cannot ''live map'' an EDC16 or 17 ECU as fitted to your car. You custom map it my taking multiple logs and making adjustments.

Dyno tuning.
Trying to tune a car properly whilst driving around is a bit Mickey Mouse
A dyno can hold a vehicle at set rpm's at various loads to ensure a perfect result. There is no way this can be done safely on the public road. Even if it could the adjustments would not be accurate compared to controlled rpm's and load and throttle %
Its normal to log various info on the open road as a final check with fresh air, but certainly not for tuning.
You'll need to ask which ever tuner it is that question.
I don't think any professional tuner would suggest driving around public roads to tune a car to be honest![]()

The current software you are running would not cause a problem for us carrying out our software upgrades on it no.
As your are planning on running a hyrbid turbo you will be looking into our phase 2 software. For this you will require a sports-cat or de-cat pipe and a cat back exhaust system.
The phase 2 map is a totaly custom calibration which ensures we get the very best out of each individual application. We do not recommend any of our maps get tuned using a rolling road, as a rolling road does not replicated the everyday driving conditions and so if done this way will not produce the best outputs when used in day to day driving.

You will be looking around £386.40 for the phase 2 software calibration for your particular vehicle.

Rolling roads cannot replicate day to day driving conditions? if you can provide a good enough cold air feed then why does that not reflect a day to day driving scenario?
Thats basiclly saying that rolling roads are inaccurate and to gain true figures you would have to drive on the roads and take readings and logs, so are they implying the same for bhp figures when tested on the RR?
