K1s rock!

I had loads of compliments about me k1 aswell, and it turned heads everywhere, kids looking and pointing saying woahhhh look at that dad, on more than one occasion.

Havent had any kids say woahhhhh about the TT!

The k1 got loads of male attention, the TT gets the fanny though :blink:

So if you buy a K1 your trying to attract men?!

I'll have to watch who beep at!!

Yeah, then fitted skirts and the spoiler to improve the looks
Also, the K1 wasn't an official special edition in the UK and even if it had been, it would have been produced in limited numbers - so obviously there will be more Cupras on the roads

Have you owned a K1? How do you know this affects all K1's and not just some of them? There is nothing wrong with my K1's body kit fitment - a bit unfair to say that all K1's suffer from this!

The K1 hater's are the only people who think this. I hardly think the majorty of motorists out there think "gosh that car looked like a village ideot" every time a K1 goes past! You must live in a strange place

Yeah, standard pre FL Cupra front bumper is nice, shame the rest of the car doesn't live up to the front view!

It is always the same on this forum when ever someone asks about the Cupra K1's - you get people like Al who never answer the question being asked, they just post their opinion about the bumpers which the person isn't asking in the first place!!

When ever you see a K1 or even a Leon with the BTCC kit on it, it looks so much better than the standard car - you can try to tart up a Cupra all you like, but it still doesn't look as good as a K1, espcially from the back with that stupid left hand side exhaust and cheep looking plastic lower section on the bumper :cartman:

Haha now you are doing what you got in a strop about to begin with! And slagging off Cupra owners.

This **** is petty.

Personal choice is something everyone has! If you choose a k1 that's your call. Go for it :)

Well as I started the original post I thought it only best to tell you what we have done....we've gone and purchased a Black K1 from the dealers in Leicester. It's a 58 plate with just under 14k on the clock and got it for a really good price. Just looking at replacing the head unit for a satnav/DVD/Bluetooth/mp3 etc unit. Seen some on eBay for about £330 and that includes a rear camera.

Anyone know how and where to install a rear camera?

Anyway, thanks for everyones advice even if some people aren't keen on the K1!

Cheers

i didnt think it was worth spending the extra to have sat nav in an all in obe solution , so i bought a good double din pioneer head unit and use a tom tom best compromise imho
reasons behind it were if the stereo broke i still had sat nav seperatly when the head unit went for repair , also god forbid it got broken into and stolen replacing a head unit would be a third of the price of the equilvalent sat nav head unit.

also didnt want to look down all the time at a lower screen to see speed limits ect.

Your post is probably the most hypocritical I've read on here!! Your asking me to respect the original op thread?! What about the others slagging off the looks of the K1 just because they don't like the bumpers etc - what did that have to do with the original thread?! Where are your words of wisdome for them?

POT, KETTLE, BLACK - look it up sometime!

As for being jealous of the Cupra, yeah you're right - I'm going to buy some Cupra bumpers tomorrow and get them fitted next weekend c/w a new exhaust.

I also better not drive anywhere until the mods are carried out - just in case I look like a village ideot driving about

I think someone needs to read the thread title...

My OPINION on the K1 kit is i love it... i have not had the front and rear bumpers put on my FR as i have not had the money to and wanted to do other mods first. The skirts and spoiler combination do make the car, but i would like to have the rest. Although, if i did get the rest i would have to have the dual exit exhausts as i dont particularly like the look of the centre exit...

Congrats on your purchase OP and enjoy your car! Have you any mods planned?

Is it marshals Leicester? Cos that's just a standard cupra with a k1 kit, it doesn't say k1 in the heading it just says this car has the optional k1 body kit!!

Sorry for sounding daft - but I thought the K1 was a standard cupra bought from the seat dealer and spec'd with the optional body kit, that was fitted in the uk after purchase!!!!!!

Help confused::confused:

You are right about the K1 being a standard Cupra with the body kit, exhaust and badges but you were able to order one has an actual K1 from a dealer for a limited time and I believe the kit was fitted at port of entry or dealers on these. If it was ordered has a Cupra and a seperate body kit then it probaly wont have a a badge unless one has been fitted.

Well done on the car mate.
I've been looking for a new HU, the same as yours. Just trying to find one at a decent price.

Are you local to Leicester, as I'm only up the road, but originally from Leicester.

In reply to the above posts, it is the one from Marshals in Leicester and it did say the optional K1 kit but it's also got the K1 badge on so I assume it was an original one, eitherway otsthe same as a Cupra but with the kit.

As for being local, I live I'm Solihull but the inlaws live in Shepshed which is why we tried Marshals. It also helps that in my job as a Chartered Surveyor one of my clients owns over 130 VAG dealership buildings including Marshals so I knew how easy it was to get to.

Just need the new head unit but I understand the comments about having a seperate satnav, makes sense to me!

Cheers
