Back too your original question robthebubble

I havent seen many other cupras with full K1 kits fitted - I thought they were a little rarer than the cupra with the BTCC kit - which is only slightly different than the k1 cupra anyway (as said before twin exits and rear diffuser to cater for this).

In my short ownership of ~

My Cupra 2.0 TSI with the K1 fitted body kit / exhaust. I can honestly say Im pleased as punch - I can see though that the original 2008 batch of ordered cars did'nt come in cronos yellow, so guess I'm a little different / Special but my car did start off the same base colour as the original breed / year and fits all the requirements in my mind.:blink:
The cost is one of the biggest things to consider though if fitting to a standard bodied car - cause believe me to do it proper aint cheap.......
I liked the standard cupra but always having :think: something a little different

IMGP0515-1.jpg

(WRX STI TYPE R, 2.8 injections, m sport beemers, ZS180's, 200sx too name a few) thought I wanted something a little different to the norm - I liked the BTCC kit but thought about it long and hard before making my mind up - costs are very similar but someone I know has the BTCC fiited so didnt want the same).

It is a fun car to own - and as of everyday I get in it "I smile" a big smile ;) - and I have noticed others around and about do the same (laughing or enjoying I know not)

But having owned sort of special things in the past I always remember having a jap import Katana motorbike [B)] but the english katana owners always thought they were better because their bikes were original uk ones -- always made me chuckle having an original uk jap bike....

Has any of these post helped you on your quest or are you more confused than ever now mate.........

My thoughts on the K1 are - it looks the bizz in my humble tired old eyes but others don't get it!!! the biggest question is why change from the standard cars looks - which lets face it are mint anyway  In financial terms, I'm a nugget cause it makes no sense, but and it's a f***ing big but - - - - I got what my head said was a no no but my heart said it was what I needed to make me happy.....
I'm off to smoke a happy cigar n sip from the jug of contentment - - - before something :cry: changes and rips a hole in it.....

I have had my K1 for exactly a week now. I bought it because of its looks. Love the BTCC kit, especially the centre exit exhaust. I can honestly say I've had more comments about it in that one week than I did about my old E46 M3 Vert! And all POSITIVE!

K1s rock!

I had loads of compliments about me k1 aswell, and it turned heads everywhere, kids looking and pointing saying woahhhh look at that dad, on more than one occasion.

Havent had any kids say woahhhhh about the TT!

The k1 got loads of male attention, the TT gets the fanny though :blink:

gonna be copying you at the end of the year/start of the next, looking at a white k1 with black wheels as i have just fallen for the looks of it and spent some of the weekend wishing i could afford it now

hoping my current revo sps box i have for my mk1 fr will fit the k1 and I get access to the extra features, although knowing my luck that won't be the case

My 2p on the looks are that the mk2 Cupra's can look dull and not very special at all.

Alot of owners are in the older bracket IMO, so this will suit them... The younger generation after a MK2 will want a K1 allday long as it stands out and it looks special in the range..

I would have a K1 over a standard Cupra personally. Not many Cupra's look like Al's though, and that is one nice FL Cupra imo with the skirts.

All down to taste, neither is better than the other. Essentially the same car, both remap very well.

I would repeat your query in the "forum technical problems" or PM one of the mods in case they don't see it in this thread... ;)

Thanks to all the responses and I think we are going for the K1...I just want to change the headunit to some sort of Satnav/TV/bluetooth type. Perhaps some ideas that will be suitable but not eh Kenwood one they have in the dealers for £999!

Cheers

Check out oemretrofits!!

QUOTE]

They look good but what about say a Kenwood one for example or is it a case of the one the dealers are selling but perhaps from a independant seller? I may do some searching on the web. I've also seen these ones on ebay which look good as they also have TV/the ability to install a rear camera etc.

Thanks for your help so far,:)
