Sorry Aimez, not trying to be difficult, but I just dont see what other info you need? It is now all in the first post, nothing is missing as far as I'm aware?

You don't need any brackets from struts-direct, so you can ignore those options. As mentioned, they have changed their website though, so you could always call them to confirm.

Shame you need the parts, as I thought Damo had supplied everything.

I know you are not you are being helpful as you can without you this would not even be here! But thick people like me need instructions for er thick people lol.

He has but I worked out that the reason mine look and are too short is the ball ends are not like yours, they are shorter by 20mm so I only really need the ends from struts direct (I think). 20mm doesn't seem much but that is why I was confused by your posts earlier on and asked all them questions it does look too short ATM you see.
I would rather buy the ends and try and if still not right can sell the ends on or buy the struts just means more postage.

I dunno Alex you think that is right?

You gonna order this up then? Be the guinea pig, lol being I already bought all the bits of Damo but the ends are too short is all. Declare anything non standard, I am with adrian flux I told them every stupid thing I did and most things like this they did not care about only about power increase or big changes in looks.

Still on my car to this day, still faultless, no issues at all.
I know of at least 2 other people who copied my idea and have had no issues either.

Wow, these are an amazing addition to the engine bay.. I hate going to shows, opening up the bonnet and having to put that stupid stick in.

Had issues with this AGAIN grrrr NIGHTMARE putting the bracket on the bonnet hinges on your own trying to hold the bonnet up clearly I am alone as no one mentioned this being so hard! The bolts then when I put them back in are threaded and spinning. So gotta have a mechanic friend try ans help this weekend dunno what to do if the new bolts do not go on!

The reason the original struts did not fit is they were way too short I have a out of the difference and I had to fork out for the correct ones. Wish I never bothered!

You'll get there eventually Aimez :)

Not sure how you've made your brackets, but it sounds like the material you've used is too thick, and the bolts aren't reaching the threads inside the bonnet. Could always countersink the screws to try and get a bit of purchase on the thread, but you'd want to make sure you get enough to not then strip the threads completely. Other option which it sounds like you've gone for is the slightly longer bolts - don't go too long though or they'll be too lose, or worse, end up denting/hitting the bonnet lid itself.

I did not make them Damo did and sold them and some struts to me, he never fitted this obviously and he bought different struts about 3 inches too short sadly.
They are about 3mm thick I think, they are reaching as they they tighten a bit then they start to spin which is very worrying you can see the thread has been stripped! Got new bolts from work today that are pre-treated with locktite not sure this will work thou.

They are not longer bolts they are the original bolts I put back in like you. I had to go to halfords who had none the right length so I had to saw them down and fit them temporary. But they do not seem tight enough but I am too scared to tighten them to much in case they spin and get wrecked like the originals. The ones from work are the same length but with more thread on unlike originals with the tapered ends so should in theory be perfect for this.
But if it is stripped inside I have no idea what the hell I am meant to do drill a bigger hole and use bigger bolts? Which makes the brackets useless and all this a waste of time and money. Everything I do goes wrong on this bloody car!
 
you drill in the hole with the supplied drill bit where the thread should be to make it smooth then you create a new thread with the supplied tool then wind in a new thread with the supplied coil which creates the thread for the bolt then brake the tab there only really needed if the existing thread is totally nakard.
