Sorry, should have been clearer - that was to take a mk2 Golf 16v one, which you could then weld some extensions into the vertical sections of the four pipes to extend the collector to make up for the height difference between an ABF and a KR, the ABF being a bit taller. I assumed that this was what the manifold builder was suggesting in the emailed reply that orangemuffin referred to in his previous post. Suffice to say, I don't think modifying a relatively expensive "off-the-shelf" item is a particularly sound approach if a scratch built manifold is going to come in at around £500 (less discount if a group buy can be set up). Might be worth having a go with a comparatively cheap mild steel manifold - an Ashley, say - to see how well it'd work, tho of course welding stainless steel is a slightly different kettle of monkeys...
