good news or bad news?

Good news. she does fly, few things on map i want changing but she is fast. maybe not as fast as i expected but he did say he kept downing the power untill it was just about drivable.

no traction at all untill 3rd on hot tarmac.

BAD NEWS

ive broke it already with in 12 hours of getting it :(

gota strip of mani and turbo 2m
mani has snapped due to not having a flexy on wastegate pipework. slip joint wernt enuff :(

doh!

Was wondering what engine mounts you got Hooch and if that's also contributed to your problems? Theres going to be a lot of movement with all those horses.

Bummer dude. Think you would have been the first SEAT to enter TOTB in the 7 year history of the compo!!!!

Hope you get it fixed in anycase and get to enjoy it. There's always TOTB next year fella.

yea i know but thats a WHOLE year away lol

not been on the rollers no...well thay claim they saw 400bhp but it kept jumping out after that so couldnt get a true reading.....but im not going to beleive that as there are no graphs.

i need to go back soon to finish the map as the maf was too small and the velocity thru the s3 one was too much and its causing problems on motorway driving. ie 80mph in 5th then plant it (anything more than 1/4 throttle)...just doesnt pik up. he claims its due tot the maf size!?

mork, i dont really understand the whole mapping side of things so please bear with me.

basicly he mension to me before i took the car away that the maf needed to be bigger and he had experianced it throwing a light on 5th gear runs.

i assumed when it wasnt boosting very well in 5th on motorway overtaking situations that this was the problem but it may not be the case according to your last post!?!?

he will be ringing me 2m to discuss

bill, been a bad week for me ready. this is just the pretty icing on top.

i stripped it down today. mani, turbo, dp all off. only took 6 hours:blink::( not happy

deffo a bad patch for you hooch..
remember "anything" within sight of the exhaust/turbo which is meltable, WILL MELT.

the radiant heat is massive.. and dyno wise its even worse as there is'nt sufficient airflow passing by.

5th gear issue is torque request I would imagine... and its hitting a limit.
If mine I would want the desired max boost I would ever run, and just unitsettings it back down to a tractionable level, leaving higher settings for dyno days (for a laff)

you can get/make turbo heat shields or the wraps (insulator blanket) - I have a new spare GT garrett insulator blanket if you wanted one.

i also noticed its started melting the bit of foam around the 2 water pipes where they go thru the bulk head.

aint them jackets like £100 tho bill? is it not cheaper to ceramic coat the housing?

how does torque request work? what senses it?

your not wrong rash and i expected it.....but on a part that cost in excess of £2000 is just a pig :(

if i unisetting boost down after having a higher boost set, wouldnt i also need to adapt fueling?

torque request is what the me7 operates under... its will ask for a targetairflow from which boost etc indirectly delivers etc Hi loads (%) will be high torque requests hence flxing the limits of the map settings on scaling etc...

The jackets are >£100 yes.. mine cost me £135 from AET.
ceramic coating will help yes, but not sure if its radiant heat reduction would be as reduced as a thick blanket provides. looks like a t-cosy

ceramic coating all of it inc the DP is what will help the others things from melting, but you cant go too OTT in the heat shielding dept either in my experience. if its in sight of the mani or DP it will melt..

I've used this laminate heat shield material>>

Unisettings will track fueling to suit boost once turned down on % load scale.. no need to trim, but you can do that too if desired in unisettings also.
