Yeah looks a pukka job, lets hope it does the job and there aren't any other weak spots that come to light later.
Anyway well done Hooch for cracking on with this, hopefully the project is back on track now

What are the benfit's of being externally gated??

Is this for more extreme applications?

Wondered why APR didn't go down this road or is it not needed on my GT28RS application?

just got her up and running. taken me alday to put oil in, change oil filter, put coolant in and re-fit a few boost/induction pipes. ive had to do it in 10 minute stint every hour when the rain stops:rolleyes:

got a little exhaust blow, not sure where from which is a little worrying but fingers crossed. just waiting for the rain to stop so i can check.

ive added more heat protection due to things i noticed melted and i added a coilpack/wiring loom heat matt as wiring looked like it had been a little hot also :headhurt:. i think it came standard on a lcr/s3. reccomened it on any bt install as the dealers will be able to get them easy.

Fingers crossed it holds together. If it cracks again I'd be very stern with them as you asked for a flexi and was advised otherwise. That brace on the wastegate outlet looks as if it will help.

Gotta add, that those are some very neat welds.

thats the thing htc, their work is soo neat and pleasing to the eye. i guess thats why they charge soo much haha

i took her for a spin and the leak sealed with heat but soon leaked again once it had cooled.

its the lower wastegate pipework flange. where it has been re-welded its now a slightly different angle so the flanges arent mateing perfectly. :(

Don't let it blow for too long as you'll get warping on the joint which means you'll need a skim on the surface area.

I had a blow on my 1st manifold which caused a slight warp on the turbo to manifold joint due to excess heat from my then wrapped manifold and crappy studs. We put inconnel items in from recommendation. It a pain in the arse of you get too much distortion especially there.

Can't believe your luck or lack of it.............normally aspirated is definately less of a headache. Still I have some trackwork soon so only time will tell.

ive got full vT mounts. iirc race front and rad rears. may upgrade to race rears also.

ianb, it seals once warm but im taking it back to them to reweld the flange so i may have a flexy put it at same time.

bill, can you supply me with 38mm v-band flanges and clamp?
