its a debatable question i know bill. BUT its a huge finacial strain even when i was on gt28.
im just trying to make people realise before its too late for them.

BT is great in manya ways but not so great in many more.

DPJ, hope so. lets just hope they are still good to let me run and my gearbox makes it untill then

BT aint cheap we know (from goign there dont we) especially when pushing things beyond medium BT sizes.. into bigger BT. things like your g'box will be under huge strain as you realise. My own breakages of several gears over the years wont be unique to me.

I cant imagine how you must be feeling right now, and its all got to be spinning around in your head. I would just urge you see not do anything hasty as for all your effort, you will get some huge smiles and satisfaction when its back and ballistic. You will only be able to 'let loose' on closed tracks tho, as it will most definately be too fast for 99.9% other cars on the public road. That is frustrating.
Enjoy it... and try to forget the ££ it cost to get there.. that was never the point was it.

good luck & best wishes
Bill

It costs alot of money to even go the smaller end of BT and the guys that did mine said the way they saw it you get the money back in pleasure from driving the car so you know what you have to do hooch! Drive it!

all the best with the rest of the build look forward to seeing this at ed38 or gti festival

BT aint all bad... if you dont take the michael out of the power available from your chosen conversion its as reliable as it would have been before hand. get hooked and want more, then brace yaself, supply the lube cos its going to sting. :hide:

I think its competition time. Whenever Hooch gets everything finished, it seems as soon as i get to have a go, it blows up etc!!! As im off on holiday from tomorrow it gives him a full week to either blow the gearbox up or do something else before i get to play... so will it last the full 7 days??? I think it will do the weekend.

Place bets now :)

Alex - 2 days from getting it back

BT's are fine BTW. Everyone should do it ;)

sounds like yours if off road more than my race car, except my racecar gets taken off road to change bits to make it faster - aside from consumming CV's and the odd driveshaft last race season. Lemon or driving style - unlucky either way for you

i wouldnt even waste ya money on that.

im already thinking of buying a new car to throw a 1.8t in and just a map...those were the fun days

BT aint all its craked up to be

Has its pro's and cons lol.

A major pro for me is that on normal driving, my fuel ecomony has gone up alot. Especially great at the current time of high fuel prices :)

So if I do about 500,00miles, I should of recouped the cost of the big turbo :D

just think, you'd have to spend alot more to get near the power of most BT cars, if buying a standard car.
