Its quite funny at the moment but would get annoying, but i think your right, once the software is done it will be lower.

Nice kit though, i highly reccommend.:)

guess that's the downside of having a bigger turbo, can't be helped. Unless you go anti-lag!!!

Anti lag would be a bit over kill on an ibiza, but on my mates, brothers 800 BHP Cossie Van it is required.

just keeps the turbo spinning, flows fuel through it, spits flames

turbo & cat will last 'hours' rather than years

basically when you lift off the throttle the igntion timing is altered (retarded) and the air/fule ratio richened. The throttle body butterfly is left slightly open or an air injector is used to supply air to the engine.
This means air and fuel are getting into the combustion chambers even when not accelerating. With the timing delayed the air/fuel reach the exhaust ports mostly unburnt. When the spark plug does fire, the exhaust valve is starting to open because of the ignition delay. Also the exhaust temperature being extremely high, the unburned fuel explodes at the contact of the exhaust tubes. The explosion keeps the turbo spinning turbo whereas normally it would slow down because it has no exhaust gases to feed it. When the driver gets back on gas the timing reverts back to normal but as the turbo is already spinning you are straight back on full boost.
Obviously the above puts a lot of stress on the exhaust manifold and turbo. You can tell cars with Anti-lag (rally cars) as when ideling and throttle lift they often bang and flame from the exhaust as the fuel explodes to keep the turbo spinning.

Good job for taking the plunge into getting one mate!

Most people have talked about it but never had the balls to go do it. Good luck, hope it works out well for you

Sounds good and like it all fitted well.

The power figure sounds very encouraging! considering how much power it will make full boost at 3500 rpm isnt too bad at all really! still has at least 3000rpm as a useable powerband and as you say with proper software it will probably be lowered (not to mention more boost, my friends cossie takes an age to come on boost when set on low at about 18psi, when its on high boost however it comes in much earlier (32psi peak!) )

Good luck with it all, looking good :)

Thanks mate. Was very tempted with your turbo setup, but i wanted to be one of the first with a GT2X. Something abit different.

Glad someone has done it! If i hadn't had developed the AM04 I would of gone this route originally. Alot of people talk about mods but are normally to fearful of being the first to do it and jump on the back of others development.

Im the type of person who will try anything on the motor.... as alot of ppl know as we first tried/tested most aftermarket mods which people are now treating as common stuff i.e. k03s, fmic, 3" dp etc etc

But I respect you for doing what you've done. Well done mate! When you got a power chart & info I wouldnt mind a copy of it to compare it against my own to see what i missed out on ;) and you thoughts on it please... [email protected]

Hope all goes well and big thumbs up

Yeah i will send you a copy of the power chart when it gets done mate, seems to run sweetly on stage 2 revo though, still running low boost of 15 PSI but have been told be Jim @ Star that 1.25 Bar is the magic number.

He is going to map it for me.

Anti Lag sounds great but eats turbos. Fitted on to a mates RS and it has a new turbo/rebuild every 2-3 months!

Van loosk great any pics of her lurking around?

The beezer should be flying with this little beastie, how comes you didnt go for the slightly larger versions in the range?

How much quicker do you think it is compared to the K03s now on stage 2?

Not sure mate to be honest, it is quicker and pulls hard to the redline. I have got it set at 15 PSI to keep it safe until mapping is done.

I agree with what has been said i see 14psi at 3200rpm and its hitting 24psi by 3600rpm once it hits 14psi theres no stopping it. Once Star have mapped i reckon it will spool quicker prob 14psi by 3000rpm or there abouts i guess you will be hoping for 280-300bhp it should be very nice.

Not sure about the turbo temps must be ok, nothing has melted yet.

Hoping for 280 BHP. anymore would be a plus. Cant wait.

Will get on with a guide tonight hopefully. Alot of typing ahead.:(
