Blipping the throttle as your coming off the clutch when changing down is to give you a smoother downshift thats all. You can do the same when shifting up, no need to double de-clutch with synchromesh though. If you rev the engine as your bringing the clutch back up, when it bites it pulls a little harder and gives you that little bit more pull. Same principle if your going up a hill and the car starts to slow down instead of changing down you can slip the clutch which gives you more acceleration up the hill without loosing speed from changing down.

Double declutching (not clutching) is used to match the rotational velocities of the gearbox components so that they mesh cleanly. It's important in a non-synchromesh box, you get horrible jerky changes without and the box will break before too long.

Each shift consists of two parts, into neutral and engage the clutch to match speeds, then disengage the clutch to shift into gear (declutching twice, you see). Going down the box you increase revs in between changes, because the lower gear requires higher engine speeds. Going up, lower revs.

The need is eliminated by synchromesh which does its best to match the speeds before letting you engage gears. Persistent abuse can wear out the synchromesh clutches in the gearbox, though most gearboxes will break if abused that much.

My Grandad used to tell me story's about learning to drive Jeeps in the 2nd world war and having to Double declutching. God knows what it's got to do with driving a 10 second car! How many of the cars in the film could a 1/4 in 10 seconds? They'd have to remove their subs, neons and Halfords spoilers to stand a chance. There's just no way that Eclipse is that fast, NOS my arse.
Finding heal and toeing hard in the Leon. The excelerator peddle is to far behind the break peddle. I'll have to keep practicing.
Any way back to the caption compation.

Sorry, I got it wrong. He says it before the race, when Brian is standing by his car with his preppy face on. Then they come and look at his engine, and talk some bollocks about Nos Fogger system blah blah and then Ja Rule pipes up.

Shortly before he gets 'murked' by some minging chick with massive cans.

he got enuf Naas to blow himself up i think it was

and doesnt he mention after the race when he looses, they then go look at the piston rings he just fried

but then cops come he then rags it flat out and pics dom up then is ragging it again . but a few mins earlier it was steaming its tits off

another thing in that race he looses his floorpan or checquered plat from under car / footwell

but wen he pics dom up you dont see him fred flintstoning hit with his feet dangling out

I'm going to attempt to say grace:

"Dear Fast & Furious Movies..... thank you for polluting the minds of every Honda owner, thank you for allowing the possibility of sticking a 4" jap exhaust on the back of every Honda that's older then 2 years, including the 1.4 Jazz, thank you for providing us with a more of a reason to take the piss out of V-TAC

Amen....... "
