Today we tackled fitting a rear window..... a polycarbonate window that was flat not curved like the original.
Started of laying it place and making sure it fits. But at this point I realised that is was just clear.. no black out line.
So I drilled a 6mm pilot hole in each corner and in to the boot lid for line up
The ones in the boot lid I then drilled out to 10mm to take a 6mm nutsert. I know it seams to big .
But with the windscreen bonder and then pulling round in to a curve it will fit....

test fit with the bolts in the corners holding it down
So holding the window in to position i then draw around the tail gate frame
. . So then I can black out the outer edge using the window primer , but first take of the protective sheet thats on both sides. But just tale of the side your going to bond too
To make it look like a normal window. Also run the primer on to the tailgate
Then run a bead of window bonder around the window frame edge on the tail gate. ( and forget to take any pictures )
I marked the top and bottom middles with white board marker on the body work and on the white protective sheet so I could place it straight in to position
Peel the corners back where the bolts go threw and lower in to position. Lining up the markers. And put am m6 bolts i each corner to
help pull the flat sheet in to a curve
Personal touch when dryed i took the screws out and filed the holes with bonder and flatteren to make it look pretty
Not to bad considering I never fitted a window before.... youtube is your teacher hahaha
