Then tack it in to position . Also making the end pieces .

But I thought as I am running the coolerworx shifter, and the cables run threw the car I don't need the hole in the floor for the gear stick.... so that's gone too

This welding thing isn't to bad

Evening all. So had a play with the welder and welded in the rest of the plates
20210605_203549.jpg

Then tried the seat and it still hits the rear section in the transmission tunnel. So that has now been cut out. Plates made and tacked back in... but I forgot photos tho....

With all the bits from the front panel laying about I thought best throw it back together to hopefully save from damage.
So lined it all up and bolted it back in
20210619_144904.jpg

Also bolting back the side cooler support arms
20210619_145117.jpg

All looks very professional..... looks can be deceiving.
Then as the rad I have is a different style I made the mounting brackets. . There is a full detailed "how to " earlier on in the build thread. So these got bolted to sides of the front panel.

20210619_144909.jpg

The the rad lined up and then bolted to the brackets.
20210619_150006.jpg

With a wiggle to position every thing straight.
Then next up is the inter cooler. I mounted the bottom brackets and the top ones
20210619_152157.jpg

I forgot to get pics of the bottom ones.
Then line up and fit the cooler it self and secure all fixing. I used a medium strength thread lock on every ring except the nylock nuts

Right. Afternoon every one. Really sorry for the lack of updates.. but not alot of any thing has happened. Been prepping all the panels for paint. As they fibreglass they are a bit rough. So days and days of prep.
But dis order my flat floor mounts. The floor is going to be combined with the splitter and go under the engine bay and holp air flow.

Get over to SBR on Facebook. The quality of there is second to none. The tig welding is spot on.
So I lined them up and mark the chassis leg. Then drilled a 10.5mm hole to suit the m8 nut set. Using 3 nut sets each side
20210724_174823.jpg

Then bolted the support arm to the body using m8 stainless button head bolts.
20210724_175509.jpg

Then rough line up of the foot section . I am going to order stainless bots for claiming the 2 sections together for the hight adjustability.
20210724_180140.jpg

Done.. they look amazing. Absolulty top work by SBR

Hopefully get some more done this week. Want it painted by end of August.... we can all hope

Another afternoon in the work shop.. I made a brace that helps support the brackets that are for the flat floor that I am going to make.
Started off with some 50 x 20 ally angle the idea is to stiffen the mounts a bit and extra mounting points.
20210828_151506.jpg
.

I had to drill a hole to to clear one of the mounting point I the foot it's self
20210828_151508.jpg
20210828_154326.jpg

This then makes it sit flat to the base. Then I can mark mounting holes in the front . I drill and nuts etc these both sides. And fix with m6 button head bolts .

Now it's supported but as it sit on top of the foot there will be a 3mm to the flat floor. So a strip of 50mm ally 3mm thick
So I measured between the feet and cut to length . I marked the middle of both and then place together and clamped . I marked the middle and 50mm in from either edge. And then marked 25mm to the middle . Drilled 3 6mm holes in them positions.
Using a 13mm drill I then counter sunk the holes I the flat sheet.
20210828_165507.jpg

Then with a water and a lock nut I then secured all 3 holes
20210828_165503.jpg

Then inbetween the bolts I then drilled another 6mm hole. This is for mounting the flat floor to.
Then with Alan bolts I fixed it in position

Slowly today from the big sheet of blue carbon sheet I made . I cut to size and made to fit where I cut out the spare wheel well.
20210828_190345.jpg

But have now sanded it and its ready to Laqure to make it shiney
Then I will mark out and drill holes and nut set the boot floor to secure it. I will but some single sided sticky foam strip to seal against the floor

Next little job done is filling in the gap in the rear arch between the original sill and the new fibre glass one
20210818_172554.jpg

So using a bit of car I cut a template
20210818_172617.jpg

I lined it up on some .5mm carbon sheet.
20210818_172629.jpg

Then cut it out and sand to shape
20210818_172651.jpg

Then line it up and drilled threw the carbon and the fibreglass arch
20210818_172703.jpg
20210818_172709.jpg

Then nurseries the carbon to bolt threw the arch to secure
20210818_172700.jpg

Then bt in to position to secure for the moment from the front view
20210818_172933.jpg

And from the rear
20210818_172718.jpg

Will remove when the car gets painted. When it's done I will run a seam of sealer around to help seal I from water. Will also drill some drain holes along the sill panel too
