Yes, previously, I had pop in speaker just when I joined M25 at J6 clockwise. Not yesterday.

I don't go past J15 too often, so not sure if it was happening to my car there.
_____________
Update on 29/11/2021

Still no pops in speakers in previously known locations, so patch for SOS is working

VWFS accepted my rejection of PCH car and I will be getting rid of it, as soon as private plate is removed. It was actually quite easy, one email with description of problems and document from service and got offer after 10 calendar days. If I knew it will be so easy, I would visit dealer earlier to attempt fixes and then reject it. Looks like refund depends when you reject the car, as some people getting all their money back and other are offered only initial back.

I'm relieved, I won't have to live with ACC, undertaking prevention and other system errors. It was my second motoring mistake in my driving career, I was seduced by looks and spec on paper. I won't be getting anything else for the time being. BMW Z4 should be fine as my only car and it already has winter tyres on. And when used car prices go down, I may consider A6 Allroad C7 or A7/A8 previous models up to 2017, proper diesels V6 with big tanks.

And here's latest story from Formentor life:
Yesterday my Formentor didn't brake with enough power and without my intervention, it would crash into the car in front of me. I was driving in slow traffic for 10-15 minutes already and ACC worked ok and then suddenly it didn't. I could see it won't brake on time and was going to intervene, when it started flashing at me from dashboard "Brake!". How do you trust such system? I don't believe anything obstructed sensor, since it was ok before and after that incident and it braked, just not good enough.

I've liked it... not sure I should have done 😉.

Last problem, bit scary if the partial automated drive systems don't work. I can honestly say I don't use any of the automation on my Ateca for steering or braking. It does seem to be a complete shambles on VAG EVO MQB platform, although saying this there does appear to be progress reading the posts.

Wonder what they do with all the problem cars, sell them on, crush them, attempt to fix them.

I'm sure they will just sell on the car. What's unacceptable to one client, is acceptable to other, judging by comments on internet.

I was told it will be picked up by BCA or Manheim, guy wasn't sure which company. I suspect it will take at least 3 weeks, because reg plate change documents have to be send to DVLA by post and then I will have to wait for private plate retention document. It's better than in summer, only 2 weeks delay. With other car, I had to wait 5 weeks.

That’s how those emergency brake systems work, they always flash and beep to warn you first. The system primes the brakes to make the pedal extremely sensitive.

If you left it another second it would have likely intervened for you (although obviously no sane person would test this in the real world).

Also, as far as I’m aware (in my experience) VWFS only use BCA for lease collections.

Yes, I was surprised by mention of Manheim too, I was not aware of them acting for VWFS. They have opinion of very strict inspections, but I dealt with them in September and all went pretty good. Didn't really see any difference comparing to BCA.

I checked reg plate of the car that was rejected by someone else couple of months ago, and I can see that VC5 wasn't reissued, so car is still registered to VWFS and it's taxed. Someone must be using it.

Assumed Agnes had travel assist with a DSG and gracefully going down thru the gears to a stop but should have stopped. If it's under the cars control it should just do it. Saying that only used the feature once and it worked.

Ateca it flashes up a big warning, sounds a siren and slams the brakes on with front assist if not using travel assist... no "Brake" warning in words, a red graphic but then I don't have a digital cockpit. Only done the emergency stop in 5 years twice. Distracted co driver on one (plane spotting), other sudden braking in front on a round about when I was checking the right entrance, it beat me. Others are just warnings with bends etc as you get where it estimates without turning you will hit a bank etc. Had a big lorry turn round off the side of the road in a lorry truck stop and interpreted that as a danger as I drive past 🙄.

I have to check my dashcam, but I don't think I was driving faster than 40mph, it was only ACC, no Travel Assist. ACC always slows downs or brakes when there's something in front of you, so I was surprised that it didn't brake strong enough to stop.

This is good news for the rest of the Forum.

I think ACC is a separate system - its job is to comfortably control the cars speed based on conditions, and is probably bound by parameters (how hard it can accelerate / brake).

The front assist system is a separate safety feature (albeit using the same radar sensor). It was likely (and I’d agree wisely) designed to only automate braking as a last resort, with visual/audio cues to the driver being sufficient in the majority of cases.

Think of those times you’ve had a false-positive warning - as Tell mentions above - and the system (thankfully) did not engage brakes because you over-rode it with accelerator input. That’s the way it should be in my opinion, until these systems get to an advanced enough level of AI + multiple redundant hardware/software control loops to reduce false positives to something like 1 in a billion (1e-9).

Had a couple of errors on my 3 week old car.

First was “Front assist availability is limited”. This has happened a couple of times. First time the car was thick with frost and put it down to sensor being frosty, but other time it was mild and clear. Ironically it happened in the same location on both occasions. After a few mins the warning disappeared and all was good.

Second error was, “Drive system. Please visit workshop”. This happened the other morning when pushed ignition on, but didn’t start the car. I switched the car off and back on and the warning disappeared. I called my dealer and they spoke with the Cupra master tech while I was on the phone, who advised that it may be teething problems as the car is such a new model and updates are coming out all the time, especially as it disappeared on switching off. They said to keep an eye on it and if it does it again to let them know and get it booked in.

So car was booked in to the dealer today for various infotainment/sensor issues. Turns out the front camera is faulty and is on back order. Will update you all in the new year if these issues are down to a camera. Seems plausible when they are on back order too.

Pretty picture on the front assist. The Arona's front assist is sensitive to angle, theory water inside drains down blocks it. Often happens after rain and it's got wet. Doesn't happen on the Ateca.
Thanks. That’s the wife’s skills while we were sitting at the traffic lights. Read the manual this afternoon and it says that many conditions affect the sensor for front assist. Rain, fog, frost, dirt, insects, etc. First time it happened would put down to frost and second time could’ve been water or dirt.

The drive system error is the puzzling one.

My saga with the drive system error is somewhere on this thread, several months back. In short, I had this on numerous occasions, some were fixed by a restart while others were persistent and my car had to be recovered to SEAT on two occasions. A lot of back and forth as the garage couldn’t replicate the problem (car started after recovery / thought they had solved it… eventually the suspect part, Body Control Module, was replaced, and ever since then the problem has not recurred.

I read back of your problems. That wasn’t good and hope mine was just a one off glitch. My dealer said there wouldn’t likely be a problem logged as it cleared itself so quickly so not worth booking it in unless it does it again.

Had my Formentor 2022 4 months now and suddenly Keyless PARTLY stopped working s couple of days ago.
No issues locking the car touching the outside of the door handle, but not possible to unlock without using the remote.
Defintely related to the cold since it suddenly started to work again today as temperature has risen from -5 to 0…
Why didn’t I think of door handle gloves immediately… 😎

Correction, it doesn’t seem to be related to the cold, it’s something else. It stopped working again today. Had the car in my garage all night…

Same for me, had mine since July and experienced all the common bugs since new, but only recently did the keyless entry start to intermittently stop working. ACC overtake prevention and SOS error are the most annoying, holding off taking it to the local CUPRA dealer until I think they can fix all the bugs with a single visit.

My keyless has been faultless since May when I got the car but has been playing up generally when it's cold.

It's booked into Cupra in A few weeks for various updates and a few minor niggles so will let you know how I get on.
