No, this will not fix car starting issue. For starting issue they need to update BCM firmware too.

Hi mate, did you get an answer on this one. Mine has been into the dealer FOUR times and various "promised" software updates have failed to fix it. They are unable to "replace" components because they can't get a fault code. It's ridiculous and borderline dangerous driving a car in that state. I even had to get my wife to record it from the passenger seat and send it to them to prove what was going on...
I've got this happening again ("constant (as in every 30 seconds) error message pings for "Travel Assist Unavailable" and "Emergency Assist Unavailable". Every 30 seconds... Ping Ping... Ping Ping... Ping Ping...").

I thought it had been fixed by a minor OTA update, but seemingly getting 1940 updated by the dealer has wiped out the OTA update and it's back with avengeance. Driving me nuts.

The SOS and EA pinging seems to have stopped since just before Christmas, I have since done a few hundred miles in blessed silence. I assume (or hope) an OTA update has been reapplied since the car was updated to 1940 which seemingly wiped out the previous fix for the problem when it occurred previously.

Has anyone had any issues with their Formentor other than the infotainment screen issues?

Ive had my VZ2 just under 3 weeks now and twice I’ve started the car up and got the following errors on the Dashboard:

Rear Traffic Alert is currently unavailable

Manoeuvre Braking currently unavailable

The faults do not clear on stopping and restarting the car but if left for a period of an hour or so they do reset.

Im in discussion with my Dealer to get the car checked out and was wondering if I’m alone with this issue or is it a common fault.

Hi did you get this resolved? I have warnings like manoeuvre parking , and anti collision
assist unavailable intermittently. It's under warranty and although the dealer haven't found the cause (not being recorded on diagnostic) they are talking about charging me for a potential wiring problem and diagnostics fees. I'd like to point them in the right direction as they obviously don't have a clue.

If anti collision assist is "front assist" and there is rain about.... a lot of it, that's quite normal but you might have known that. The radar doesn't radiate / get received too well though a film of water. Sometimes that can get inside but clears itself once dried out without doing anything. The warning is to say you have lost protection. Equally blind spot / rear cross can suffer from this issue with mud and dirt covering the rear panel sensors. That one needs to be toggled back on when that happens on the menu, least on the Ateca / Arona, likely to be the same on the Formentor.

Parking... that's ultrasound. I'd check for whether it's a wet weather thing, muck and dirt on the sensors etc. Front assist plays up more when road side foliage is wet since the car gets more of a bounce back. That's additional, gives you false positives at bends etc.

Saying all of that, it might be an electronics thing. The hour delay may be the time that it takes for the sensors to dry out, although 20 minutes is the Vag time for most of the cars electronics to power down, then start talking to each other again once restarted. That's a Vag thing, so electronic issues in how the modules talk to each other and the infotainment system can be cleared in that period.

Well mines started ready for Christmas

- infotainment completing blacking out
- a random electrical crunch noise when entering and sitting down (never heard it before) - maybe I sat on the bolster on getting in?
- various front collision sensor errors
- still a faff recognising me as main driver on startup
