Hi all I’m thinking of ordering a face lift formentor 24/25 v3 1.5 in the next few weeks.

this car has the new mib4 software And is based on the vw golf.

i don’t know if any of you know that the new vw Tiguan and golf and Passat are all having problems with the front camera in front of the mirror.
As the car cannot see the road it shuts down all the assist in the car as errors and the car some times As safety precautions shuts down Also steering wheel air bag error.

does the formentor have the same software as the Tiguan and golf and Passat?

and are any you guys haveing problems with software with your new formentors?

cheers jools

Mines a pre facelift bought 2 months ago and and I've had no software problems really. Slow boot up occasionally takes maybe 20 seconds for the centre screen to fully boot up. No drive assist errors. Heard the early cars were a nightmare.

I've never heard of those errors on the Facelift, but that doesn't mean those are excluded - no idea...
However, on the new Formentor I've read that some intermittent errors occur occasionally, but similar to the pre-facelift model they just vanish after a short while.
Some might consider more annoying a strange behavior after the car is washed: it sometimes refuses to start. The dealer told me they had a few cars that behaved like that after they washed them in preparation for delivery or for the showroom. Also a few users mentioned this type of glitch on their cars. Solution: lock the car, wait for a couple of minutes and everything works as it should... I'm sure by now Cupra knows about this last problem and is going to address it rather sooner than later. Probably by the time your new order would be built, the SW update would be already on the car.

It will be interesting in a few months to come back hear to revisit to see if any errors did occur with the car,
on the Front, Side, Lane, and Sign Assist warnings on the car.

I love the VAG group cars and I have had quite a few in the last 25 years and its a shame that the VW dealers cannot do anything for their customer as its in the hands of VW for a update with the software on the cars, as 2 updates have already failed and the dealers have so far have reverted to discounting the battery for a few hours and pulling a fuze out of, which basically resets the car.

I was going to order a R-line Tiguan 272 plug in with a lot of extras, which is interesting that CUPRA have the extras in the price EG heated steering wheel.
so it looks like it will be the V3 on order the next question is how long does a factory order take as my local dealer where saying 12 weeks does this sound wright?

I was given a lead time of about 3 months for the PHEV when I asked the dealer in September (delivery to Bucharest); not that I'm planning to immediately replace the one I have...

Since you were planning on Tiguan: did you have a look at the Terramar? there's a 272 PHEV version too. It looks a lot better than the Tiguan (both on the inside and the outside) if you ask me; it does have the practicality of the Tiguan (sliding rear seats, larger trunk).
Sure, it it not that great looking as the Formentor on the outside, but I think you should have a look at the interior design also. To me, the Terramar interior is not bad at all... but that's just "de gustibus".

p.s. the Terramar is built in the Audi Hungarian factory at Gyor, where they also build the new Q3. Is it possible that this fact might also influence the build quality of the Terramar compared to the Formentor? (not saying, just asking...)

I have had my facelift V3 for a week and no issues to report with the software. In fact, it’s better than my pre-facelift VZ2, which had several small issues previously.
