I would expect both of them to produce similar heat for the same boost... (one might be shifting more air than the other, but compressing the air is still compressing the air)

Maybe slightly less for the IHI as its exhaust turbine is larger and less back pressure?

E05 hotter is my guess.

Pre-rad looks the same size on both mine and Pace's current one. (its made by pace after all)

Not sure on temp in, but on week last sundays Stealth RR, induction temps were 18'C on 21psi boost after a few runs. It did climb up to 35'C on the final full boost run.
(ICE used in header tank for RR dyno - heatsoak on a RR will happen, its just a question of how long it takes to heatsoak. - Pre-rad does need larger surface area IMHO)

Using my other assumptions but with an ambient of 10'C, it works out around 343bhp @ 18'C and 324bhp @ 35'C.

Obviously a different ambient, together with differences in flow rate and compressor efficiency will alter this result.

Bill, if you have flow data from your head-work and a compressor map for your IHI (I can't find one anywhere), I'll be able to model your car reasonably accurately.

To answer which runs hotter, if running the same boost on the same engine, it mainly comes down to compressor efficiency across the rev range. The 70% figure I used is on the low side as an average - I've seen them as high as 78%.

Jabba are charging the same as Pace. Elton said he 'thinks' its £625+vat for the parts. Fitting is extra.

just spoke to jabba and they said they have been promised 2 lots of downpipes and exhausts for this time next week, but i will wait for the phone call till i get too excited.
although elton does seem to think the pre-rad is of reasonable size, but only testing will show this.

roll on next week

No head data and no compressor maps... sorry.

Reasonable for road use and 1.25bar max yes... agree...
For track use, 20 mins sessions... Not a chance. Trust me :p

2 'lots' of downpipes? Do you mean 2 downpipes?

If so then I'll be VERY Pee'd off if happen to be 3rd in line.... espcially if it takes the supplier 2 months to make each downpipe!!!

Cannot recommend enough the Milltek 2.5" downpipe and sports cat for use with the E05 turbo upgrade, the diff it has made is staggering, and to my suprise is very noticable when driving ( i did not exspect much diff). It seems to be getting better and better all the time all i can think is that the ecu is/has adapted to the new upgrade. It seems as if a lot less heat soak is taking place, it revs harder/longer and faster. Very suprised to be honest.

Once the cooling is sorted, i will get Jabba to remap to suit all the mods and crank the boost up a few psi. And hopfully 250bhp+ will be available. If its 250bhp thats fine, its still a nice few extra bhp over chipped alone.

Did he mention anything about injectors??

What looks wierd to me is that peak power is at 5K rpm, like it would be with the Ko3. The whole point of this turbo is that it'll hold boost higher up the rev range. The biggest difference when I went from the K03s to the E05 was in the top end power, ie over 5k.

It'll be interesting to see the graphs when you can get them up.

I think it may be worth sticking a Revo'd ECU in the E05 cars for comparison to jabba and a RR run

I think that of 6 power runs back to back induction temps never went above 45oc.

I know my rule power was 241.4bhp is that the figure that counts?.
