Well that didn't work. Too much methanol again, I reckon. Only managed 301 bhp with torque well down.

I'll refit 175cc nozzle as per my best run at 362.3bhp. This was with a 40% mix, so it's perhaps worth seeing if the 50% mix would give an improvement, or slightly too much.

First Methanol Addicts Anonymous meet next week..... :D

looking good Dave; interesting read! All of this WMI stuff is very interesting; I understand the way if works, but could you clear a couple of things up for me:
Firstly, how are you adjusting your timing? Is this using an SPS or similar?
Secondly, what does CF stand for? Am I right in saying this is how much the ECU is tried to pull the timing back?

Any links to the technical bits behind installing and setting up WMI would be appreciated! I'm not planning on fitting it; just find it quite interesting!

I'm adjusting timing using Unisettings, Danny. Similar to Lemmiwinks - just software using my Vag-Com cable.

CF is correction factor. The ecu can individually retard timing on each cylinder and the CF is degrees of retard.

Try this link for more info :)

Been doing some reading...more questions!
What sort of rate is the water/meth mix uses? do you have an example ml/min figure?
Am I correct in thinking the kit automatically senses when the car comes on boost and injects the water/meth mix at a predefined rate dependant on boost?
If this kit was to be used on a stage 1 mapped car without advancing the timing on a low meth/water ratio would there still be benefits due to the cooler charge temps? What I'm really asking; could these kits be used to achieve an extra 10-20bhp; therefore not risking the internals greatly; while providing lower EGTs and cleaner combustion (prolonged/safer engine life?)?
Sorry for all the questions!

50/50 water/methanol is the 'recommended' mix but this can mean too much methanol is being delivered

Yes my kit has a boost sensor. I can set min and max boost levels and the kit delivers wmi flow 0% to 100% dependant.

Absolutely right.

Yes.

Dave have you considered a logging channel 120 and converting to a bhp measurement. I know its not going to be very accurate since your not running stock software but the max reading obtained is consistant. By trying the various nozzels etc and relogging you should be able to find the most effective combination.
